Ed seemed concerned, and Stede wanted to comfort him but really didn't know if he had it in him to say one more sincere thing to him that wasn't, 'If you don't kiss me right now I think I may just combust,' so he gave him a little closed-mouthed smile.
"Stede? You okay, mate?"
Stede just breathed. Well, panted, really. Yes, he was panting now for Christ's sake. And Ed studied him, realization seeming to dawn on him that Stede was aroused, though he still seemed a bit wary. Which is when Ed noticed that thick hot line threatening to burst a few seams in his trousers, a wet spot now visible even here in the dim light of the hallway.
Ed ducked his chin and quirked a smile as he crowded in closer, and Stede let him, not backing up enough to actually be trying anymore.

Stede Bonnet has been dating Edward Teach for a few weeks, and he's never felt so attracted to someone in his life. So why does he keep freezing up whenever Ed touches him?
I wrote this as an exploration of communication in a new relationship, and the importance of Talking It Through. And in keeping with fanfiction tradition, I gave Stede a load of issues and then gave him the perfect boyfriend to work them through with.
