Summary
While on the run from his Arcadian Lykos pack and caring for his mortally wounded brother, the last thing Agron needs is more responsibility weighing him down. When he emerges from an impulsive one-night stand with a mating mark, an unwitting human suddenly becomes the center of his universe. Unwilling to complete the mating ritual and subjugate an innocent man to the dangerous life he leads, Agron must protect Nasir until the marks fade. And Jon just stares at them with these dark eyes that seem haunted by whatever it is he’s seen or done. Sansa wonders, too—if this look is to rattle them. Because it’s not one he holds over the dinner table, not one he gives to her or their younger siblings. It’s a different look he has about him when he crouches down to be level with Rickon while they play catch in the back yard. Or when he helps Arya with her homework. Or when Sansa hands him fresh laundry and he lightly tells her he can do it himself.
I know, she tells him. Because she does. But Sansa is just so happy to have him home. She’s so happy that he’s alive that she wants to do little things for him—to thank him, somehow, for coming back when Robb didn’t.
