A belated birthday present to the lovely mithrilbikini!
Recently mith reblogged a tumblr prompt to do with height differences which stated:
“You’re afraid that you’ll lose me in big crowds so you always hold my hand but now you just hold my hand when there’s only, like, five people around and I’m getting very suspicious.”
And I thought this one would be perfect for our pair of dorks given that Bilbo would probably be a lot smaller than most dwarves and likely get lost or trampled in crowds.

Summary
Young Bilbo Baggins has a turbulent encounter with an odd creature in the snow a few years after the Fell Winter took his parents. It had been injured and seemed to be starving, and Bilbo, in a fit of Tookish foolishness, takes it in.
As it turns out, the creature is a dwarf, but dirtier than any faunt could ever hope to be, with fingernails like claws, a bearskin over his shoulders and manners like a wild beast. His frustrating guest refuses to bathe, or sleep anywhere but the floor, growls more than he talks, and keeps his many fearsome weapons constantly within reach.
And when the winter storms start to rage outside, Bilbo has no choice but to share his smial with this possibly mad and rather dangerous dwarf.

"What?" Thorin questioned, his eyebrows caught between confusion and irritation. Bilbo on the other hand was one hundred percent confusion, slowly his eyes lifted to meet Thorin's. "You don't think your beautiful?" Thorin demanded, his face scrunching into a scowl.

Summary
This one may take a little explaining.
Some time ago the wonderful Rin Pin created a very interesting AU on tumblr which she named 'Battle Ready Baggins'. The basic gist of it being:
“At the end of the Battle of the Five Armies, everyone lives, nobody dies, but Bilbo was still banished from Erebor for stealing the Arkenstone and went back to the Shire. Or so that’s what everyone thought.
Five years later, Thorin - has broken free from his gold sickness and has been sitting on his throne thinking of nothing else but of Bilbo. So he - and a few of the Company - go out to find the Hobbit, hoping to ask for forgiveness. When they arrive to the Shire, they find a certain meddlesome wizard who is also searching for the hobbit. But when they come upon Bag End - Bilbo is gone. And he doesn’t want to be found.”
So this is the idea that Bilbo may have found out what that little gold ring in his pocket really is and went to go take care of it himself!

“Did Thorin send you?” demanded Bilbo, too incensed to care about propriety.
“He wants to see you,” rumbled Dwalin. “He’s sorry.”
“I like that!” shouted Bilbo. “Oh, I like that, very much! Well, you can tell the king, he can bloody well come and tell me himself, if he can find the time out of his busy schedule, and if it so pleases him!” and he slammed the door in Dwalin’s face.

Things have changed ever since Thorin's gold-sickness, and Bilbo no longer knows what to think of his relationship with Thorin. When he becomes the object of affections from a new dwarf friend of his, Thorin's seemingly-easy acceptance of their relationship both infuriates and confuses him.
