Gigi squinted through the sting in her eyes. The voice belonged to someone crouching beside her. A woman. No—an EMT, judging by the navy-blue uniform and the patches sewn into the sleeves. The sun caught on her short, messy blonde hair, chopped just around her neck, and those eyes—those eyes were so green it was almost unfair. Sharp, serious, and directed squarely at Gigi.
“Am I dead?” Gigi croaked, lips dry.

Elizabeth and Nerissa were fun. They loved each other as clearly as the day, yet didn't admit it. Didn't confess to each other and finish the tension between them.
It was what made them interesting to Shiori, it was like watching a romance novel she had read before. She could take in the joy of seeing the pieces fall together, laugh at their bad flirts, and interest herself in their little story.
At least that was what she thought. Feelings were always more complicated than that. Especially if Shiori couldn't pinpoint the uncomfortable emotion that began blooming in her chest after a while.
