    This story is inspired by a tumblr prompt that I once came across and originally wanted to write into a MDZS fic but Luo Binghe beat me to it.

    Shen Yuan is the youngest general ever appointed in the Three Realms. Until an injury forces him into early retirement and Luo Binghe has a brilliant alternative career plan for him.

    Step One is getting Shen Yuan to agree to it.
    Step Two is not losing his mind when he proves successful.

    Meanwhile, Shen Yuan is adjusting to his new life and to his own surprise mostly enjoying himself. But who wouldn't when he gets to see Binghe (ahem taizi dianxia) this often while wearing pretty dresses. This doesn't say anything about him, of course. Anyone would feel the same in this situation. Obviously.
