Hakuji breathes through the pain.
It’s what he always does, the ache never fading or leaving, but it’s worse this time of year. Koyuki loves the fireworks— loved them. She had been so happy when they had been able to watch them. She thought they were the most beautiful thing in the world. She was wrong but Hakuji could never think of a way to tell her that she outshone the fireworks she so adored by far. Now, he’ll never get the chance to try.

Summary
Given the lineup of students participating in the event, Todo had expected to find Kamo standing where the arrow had originated from. It was Kamo’s reserved face was one the third-year was prepared to punch regardless of the reasoning for interrupting the building tension of his fight with Fushiguro, yet when he jerked his head, all he came to find was a pink-haired boy in a black and white kimono, sleeves tied back with a red tasuki as a practical decision to make shooting the bow in his hand far easier.
“I thought the point of this event was to see which side could kill more cursed spirits?” The unknown intruder gave a sheepish laugh, taken back by the set of glares aimed his way.
Interestingly, Fushiguro’s initial response had changed quite rapidly, shifting from annoyance to shock, prompting him to uncharacteristically shout.
“Itadori!?”

Surely Akaza is mistaken. Accidentally going on a date and sleeping with a Demon Slayer is just utterly absurd. No, it is fucking catastrophic. It is phenomenally, and perhaps even comically—if it was happening to anyone but Akaza—bad.
