"What?" she asked, not fully comprehending why he was saying this now, just when she was trying hard to get over him.
"She," he said, grabbing her hands, "isn't," moving to her waist, "you," and finally placing his hands on both sides of her face.
"But you still chose her, didn't you?" She kissed his cheeks, gave him a last tearful look, and a sad smile before leaving.

It wasn’t the most original observation. Anyone could tell that she was lovely. Long hair, sunlit blonde. Lithe limbs. Rosebud lips, which pouted and smiled and dripped venom as the occasion called for it. When she dumped Football Face, half the school came out just to watch the stadium lights gleam on her shiny pink jacket. It was a fact, like the existence of algebra or the current price of gas: Regina George was a beautiful girl.
Rodrick Heffley had a peculiar relationship to beautiful girls.
