Summary
Natasha has had a few years of memories misplaced and has no idea she’s married to super sexy Commander Hill. Clint is being a good bro and helping her through this. Shield (and Fury) are worried that Natasha’s no longer the person (and loyal agent) she was. Maria’s just heartbroken her wife’s forgotten the life they built. Not for herself but for all the lost happy memories they created together for Natasha. Nat’s playing it cool but when she finally manages to slip her handler (Barton, as if she wouldn’t know) and isolate ‘Commander Hill’ she’s thrilled.
Maria knows all Nat’s tells so knows Nat was trying to do exactly this. They set a trap to see where Nat’s loyalty truly lay. Clint’s hopeful Nat’s still loyal to the ideals of Shield. Fury’s a pragmatist so knows she might not be. Coulson wants Nat to take this chance to prove herself better than the trauma she escaped. No one truly expects what Nat’s goals actually are.
