  Summary

  He scanned the sky, waiting for the all-too-familiar purple blast to strike. All around him, people were scrambling to gather weapons and supplies. He heard distant shouts growing closer, frenzied voices trying to disorient the beasts or warn their friends in combat. The blasts of fire illuminated the carved dragon heads on rooftops, and he pushed away all of it in a desperate attempt to focus. He needed to see his target.

  He silently wished on the stars for luck, and just like that he saw it. A thin streak of black against the moon.

  Charlie had found his Night Fury.
