Centuries ago, instead of hiding from muggles with the Statute of Secrecy, wizards used a ritual to create a dimension for all magical beings to live openly. Summary
Rhaegar Targaryen slew Robert Baratheon and won the Battle of the Trident. The Prince ascended as King of the Seven Kingdoms. Lyanna Stark as his second wife and queen, along with Elia Martell. Lyanna gave birth to a daughter, they named her Visenya.
The rebel lords got but a slap on the wrist in an effort to unify the realm. King Rhaegar was hailed for his mercy. Everyone should have been happy. The realm was healing.
But Eddard Stark leaves the failed rebellion wounded. A crucial set of events and a hard truth changed the nature of the Lord of Winterfell.
