All he could think about was how he was an idiot.
An idiot for not asking his father what he should do if he ever found someone that he was willing to burn for.
or Aonung wanted Neteyam's eyes to be on him at all times, but he learnt from his father that the best way to grab attention was 'by pissing the 'person of interest' of.

Oh, Ma’Eywa…what did they do to you?” The creature called out sadly, water blowing out from the top of their head as it shook back and forth, backing away as Neteyam shushed it, hands stretched out needlessly. “Hey, hey, it’s okay. I won’t hurt you, I promise.”
The creature backed up more, sliding further into the water to reveal the top of its head, something light blue in color finally being revealed to Neteyam, his eyes widening as he locked onto the still body of a Na’vi with wounds littering their body.
Neteyam ran into the sea, brushing a hand over the creature's roughened skin as a warning before bracing and jumping up, kneeling by the foreign Na’vi and sighing with relief when he could hear their breaths, slow and rough though they may be.

The girl looks up at Dazai for confirmation, which only fuels the flames.
She’s taller than him, which makes a pang of jealousy echo through his chest, but he doesn’t need to be tall to stare her down, baring his teeth until she finally gets the hint and breaks eye contact, shuffling away.
Chuuya can feel the rumble of a laugh in Dazai’s chest behind him, suppressed only because the girl is still in hearing range. Or maybe because Chuuya would turn his irritation on him.
Dazai steers him towards the cash registers, hands firm on his shoulders. “You know, it’s cute when you get all possessive, but try not to bite too hard, okay? I like this store.”
