Aaaaaand we finally have the WEDDING!!!
I actually wasn't going to write the wedding directly, I was going to have Elphaba and Fiyero reflect on it during the honeymoon. But I couldn't get how dumbstruck Fiyero would be watching Elphaba walk down the aisle, so here you have it!!!
Here is an excerpt:
It is more than a relief to finally meet this day where he will become a husband to the most exemplary woman—person—he has ever known. Despite all his ignorant intentions of the past, his marriage would not be one of duty, but rather a marriage of deep love, constant bickering, laughter, and passion. It will be a partnership between true equals.Before he had met Elphaba, he had always pictured his wedding with a looming sense of dread. He had imagined the morning of the ceremony to involve much pacing and tugging at his hair, and he had expected to need at least a measure of brandy to get himself down the aisle.

Summary
Dear gentle readers, welcome to another installment of The Rake and the Fae!!!
This is something of a filler chapter before the wedding/honeymoon, but important to the story nonetheless.
I know some will be sad to hear this, as am I, but this will likely be the last Galinda POV before the epilogue. What I can promise, is that the Galinda we hear from in the epilogue will be very happy.
Here is an excerpt:
And in that moment, as she holds Elphaba in her arms, she knows that the pain of bearing witness to the past weeks had been worth it.
Her final sacrifice will be to attend the wedding, to watch as her love promises herself to another. She is aware that Elphaba does not expect her to attend, but she cannot bear the thought of Elphie having no one of her own in attendance. The Tigelaars are fond of her, that is undeniable, but they are first and foremost Fiyero’s family. The members of the ton in attendance have never embraced Elphaba openly, and so she feels she must be there as a friendly face in the audience on the most important day of her friend's life.

Welcome back dearest gentle readers! Another installment of the Rake and the Fae and the long dreaded appearance of Frexpar Thropp. Gah, how I loath him!!
But never fear! I have added lots of sugar and spice to help you tolerate the bitter pill the is Frexpar!
Here is an excerpt:
“How is she?” he murmurs under his breath.
“It has been a challenging day thus far, and likely to only become more so,” Galinda whispers back, her gaze not leaving the touching scene of Elphaba crouching in front of Liora as the little girl regales her with tales of the day's lessons.
“I wish it could be avoided, but regardless, we will protect her. She will not have to face him alone.” He turns towards her now.
Galinda’s eyes leave Elphaba’s to meet his own.
“And I am glad of it, but you must prepare yourself. Baron Thropp's cruelty knows no bounds,” she murmurs, and her expression is uncharacteristically dark.
Fiyero finds himself lost for words at this admission as the pit of dread in his stomach grows.

Summary
Another installment of the Rake and the Fae (I can't quite believe how long this has become, it was originally intended to be a one shot).
BUT the good news is that there is finally some fluffy happiness in this installment to balance out the angst.
Here is an excerpt in lieu of a summary:
He stands to move from the bed back to his chair.“My lord, if I am to owe you my life for your gallant rescue, I believe it might be appropriate for you to address me by my given name.” Her eyes are averted, but the corner of her mouth is lifted in levity.
Unrestrained joy blooms in his chest.
“I should like that very much, Elphaba, but only if you will do the same.”
She offers him a full smile now.
“Very well, Fiyero,” she grins.
He returns her smile as he stands.
“I will take my leave now, Elphaba, but it would please me greatly if you could assure me that you will get some sleep.”
“You make many requests this evening, Fiyero, but I will acquiesce if you make the same promise.”
