Summary
Sam beat the Devil. He survived Hell. He saved the world. And he was officially done with everything: with angels, with apocalypses, and with his brother's insistence that everything supernatural was their responsibility. So he left the hunter life and the supernatural behind. He decided he can still help people in his own way so he finally went to law school and became a prosecutor, eager to only protect humans from normal human threats.
It's been 7 years and he finally feels like he could truly be normal again. The nightmares are finally fading and life is the nice kind of quiet. That is until his undead mother, his half-amazon niece, and a salty fallen angel in love with his estranged brother show up at his door asking for help rescuing Dean from a government black site facility after failing to assassinate the president
Sam thought he'd seen and done it all but apparently he can still be surprised and the confusion is only just beginning as the search for Dean gives him a glimpse into his brother's crazy life for the past 7 years.
A canon-divergent semi-fix-it fic from S12 E9 "First Blood," which alternates from Canon after the events of S5 E22 "Swan Song." Will end with S13 E6 "Tombstone."
