Cheren sighs. "Though in retrospect, that would not have stopped me, either, so... I should get going after them. I, ah—find Drayden, he's the mayor and the local gym leader, look for his Haxorus."
Before Cynthia can ask what a Haxorus is, he withdraws his own Pokéball, sends out a Stoutland, hops onto his own Pokémon's back, and they too charge off in the direction the kids had gone. Cynthia stares after him, for a few long moments, before Eros nudges her with a curious chirp.
"Well, he seems to be doing alright for himself, minus the Plasma situation," Cynthia says wryly. She turns back towards the city. "Let's see what we can do."

There's a sound like rustling clothing and then Shauntal's voice, significantly more muffled, "Speak for yourself, I would LOVE to meet your pseudo mom-slash-older-sister’s Spiritomb!"
Cynthia opens her mouth and shuts it at that. Okay, that was... unexpected. She's going to pretend she didn't hear that.
There's the rustling noise again, and then Shauntal says, "Okay, we've got this, unfortunately. There was, uh... Team Plasma had their castle fucking rise up around the League after some green-haired twink kicked Alder's ass, the girl who got past all of us and was on her way to Alder went after them, and the five of us have been dealing with a whole fucking bunch of grunts since then. Fortunately most of them aren't prepared for the teamwork of Unova's Elite Four... and Alder too I suppose, he’s… helping…"
Cynthia snorts lightly. "I'll get over there as soon as this storm clears up. Be safe."

It’s been two days. Two. Freakin’. Days. It’s probably a good thing Tim stuck around in Ryme City, because it’s been two days, he’s barely even started to be an actual detective, and Mewtwo’s already turned up. Again. And he’s dripping blood on his dad’s couch.
Or, the fic that picks up not long after the movie left off and throws our heroes right back into the thick of things. The fic where Tim relearns how to be a son, Harry relearns how to be a father, and Mewtwo’s just completely and utterly done. (But secretly not as annoyed as he should be to be stuck here for the foreseeable future.)
