Summary
Rain keeps beating on the rooftops, muddying the glass, this was the sound of heaven. A chin rested on the door and vibrated as the vehicle moved. The scene moved past endlessly outside the window and he watched the raindrops dance to entertain his blues.
Footsteps sounded nicer on pebbles; Jihoon learned on his first walk to Pledis. He could hear their bell-like sounds over the low hum of his loosely hung earphones. He was listening to his latest unfinished song.
Seungcheol slung his arm over his shoulder. Jihoon was red from both the heat and being flustered looking at the two boys behind him. He recognized one of them. “This is Lee Seokmin. Also, do you remember Kwon Soonyoung?” Jihoon smiled and bowed to them, “briefly”....
Jihoon moves back to his hometown after inheriting his grandmother's house. He reunited with the home, the scenery, old friends, and is firmly set on making a life for himself. Someone gasped.
Jeonghan’s smile faltered. “I brought food—”
“And I’ve had dozens of omegas like you,” Seungcheol said sharply, eyes hard. “Trauma-drunk, clinging to whoever pulled them out of the wreckage. You’ll wake up in a week and realize you were just high on adrenaline. I’m not interested in playing caretaker.”
Jeonghan’s hand slowly lowered, the latte still in his grip.
Someone whispered, “Ouch.”
