"Mommy, I didn't cry in front of anyone," Lavi said, her voice small. Though she had acted tough for the guests, her eyes were now brimming with tears that finally threatened to spill.
"My brave girl," Caitlyn smiled, her vision swimming as tears finally rolled down her cheeks.
Lavi’s tiny hands reached up, but she couldn’t quite reach her mommy’s cheeks. To her delight, someone suddenly lifted her. "Mommy, don't cry. I am fine. I am brave like you, mommy" she said, gently wiping away Caitlyn's tears while Vi held her securely in her arms.
