    Summary

Shen Yuan, a Qing Jing researcher with low cultivation and an unhealthy interest in the demonic entities that crawl out of the rift in the abyssal zone of the ocean, gets his hands on an amulet to allow him to personally travel down there to conduct his studies. It gives him an aquatic spiritual form, with fascinating traits to help him survive at the bottom of the sea.

The problem is that he’s not only being allowed down there for his research. Twenty years ago, the levels of demonic energy emanating from the rift rose and haven’t fallen since. Cang Qiong monitors the coast, certain that there’s a powerful entity down there, lurking, biding its time. If possible, Shen Yuan is meant to find and report on that entity—but the chances of him actually stumbling across it are low enough to basically be zero, right?

Or: There is a creature at the bottom of the ocean. It takes exception to having its territory crossed over.

    Summary

Shen Qingqiu folded his arms around the trembling boy, his sleeves flowing about him like a blanket. “Silly child,” he whispered, head dipping down until his cheek rest on Binghe’s wild hair, blowing around them in a mane of curls from the hot wind that gusted upwards from the inferno of the Endless Abyss. “Your shizun would never make you face such terrors alone.” He took a deep breath, squeezed the youth tighter, his own hands shaking ever so slightly, the only betrayal of his cool composure. “But this master has no choice but to take you to your fate.”

And then he tipped himself, and Luo Binghe in his arms, over the edge of the cliff.

    Summary

"Don't make any hasty moves!" Shen Qingqiu said, keeping one hand lightly on the wrist of the Liu Qingge closest to him. Which -- he thought this was the same one that he'd been following down the stairs, whose hand he had taken in the dark, but he couldn't be sure. Which was, of course, exactly the point and the problem. "I know what this is."

"You recognize this?" gulped one of the Shang Qinghuas. There were five of them, all trying to sidle into corners or otherwise get out of the line of sight, but this one looked correct to Shen Qingqiu. He turned towards the author-turned transmigrator.

"Yes, and I'm sure you will too with a little prompting," he said, glaring at Shang Qinghua. "We're dealing with doppelgangers."

    Summary

Luo Binghe trying to hug him wasn’t entirely unusual. Normally, he tolerated it with a slight reprimand about it being inappropriate which would deter the sticky disciple until the next time something set him off. Currently however… his sweet sticky white sheep hugging him was downright alarming. After all… less than 10 minutes ago he stabbed and then threw this exact same boy into the Endless Abyss.
