Summary
“I didn’t think there’d be people like us here,” Alex comments as she polishes off her ice cream cone, and three words reverberate in Seth’s mind. People like us.
It makes her think back to when she was a kid, how her tomboyishness was endearing then, how her masculinity went from cute and acceptable to isolating the second she showed up at her bat mitzvah in a suit and tie (something she had begged to wear) with her hair cropped close to her head. But here’s Alex; all lace and leather and fishnets, big hoop earrings, platinum blonde pompadour standing tall on her head, bright purple streak standing out. Visibly queer in a way that’s different than anyone she has ever seen before.
“Yeah, well, you know now,” Seth finally says.

Summary
What if Lisbon and Jane were in a relationship when Jane finally killed Red John? What if he had to run without her? And when they find each other again, will things be the same between them?
This is technically a sequel/epilogue to my story Undercover, but it can be read alone.

Summary
“From what I can tell,” Jane said, “he managed to develop a kind of…chemical aphrodisiac.”
Against her best intentions, she flushed. “That’s not funny.”
“Well, it’s not a joke.”
“It’s inappropriate! I thought you learned your lesson the last time we were in this situation. Remember that case? When you let me believe I was going to die?”
“Yes, I recognize that I’ve created something of a boy-who-cried-wolf dynamic. But in this case, I promise, the wolf is real.”
While investigating a crime, Jane and Lisbon are dosed with a drug that threatens the stability of their friendship.

Summary
She’s so disoriented by her own sadness, so unfamiliar with it after months of unbridled joy, that she doesn’t hear Cho walk up beside her.
“Where’s Jane going?”
“Someplace nice apparently,” she says bitterly, trying to subtly wipe the tears off her cheeks without him seeing.
“What does that mean?”
“It means he’s a coward.”
Cho doesn’t say anything to that for a moment, just studies her carefully before finally settling on, “Let’s go get a drink.”
