Summary
Lucifer didn't understand how he felt. He didn't know why he was so agitated, reacting as if, deep down, he had not wanted that. The demon had said he could — and only in that way —, even though he was far too drunk to think clearly and, shortly after, had laughed so hard he almost fell backward, as if it were the most hilarious joke he'd ever told.
No. Perhaps he was just surprised that Lucifer had finally taken the action he had been waiting for so long and had gone into shock. It could also be just another of his games to challenge the king, who wouldn't fall for the demon's petty blackmail. Whatever it was, the angel decided he wouldn't accept that reaction as an answer.

Mistakes are there to be made, but some should never even be thought about. Alastor did not know if his relationship with Lucifer was one of them; but to exchange his soul certainly was and he should have understood that the price of his soul was his freedom, even though the king never asked for something in return.
