George started his medical career in London, England and was transferred after being noticed by Katherine Fox and being offered a place in Florida. Less than a year after transferring bringing his fellow 5th year resident friend, Alex Maves, he found and made a cure for a chronic lung illness which led him to win a Katherine Fox award. This is the key event on which started his career in Orlando and building his reputation and of course, saving lives
Pediatrics is a hard and emotionally difficult specialty of surgery. When I was a resident, I went through every specialty that was available to me and what I learned was that pediatrics stabs you in the soul and lets you bleed out. Maybe that's the reason I took on general surgery or I simply can't stand children. So I find it quite surprising when I see a very young child sitting in my unit of the hospital.
