Summary
Hanschen Rilow is not a good person.
He isn’t even a nice or kind person. He’s cruel and cold and only has his own interests in mind. He’s cocky and overconfident and rude.
People whisper about him in the school hallways, he’s sure, telling everyone new to stay away from him.
He’s been told that he isn’t a bad person, just an angry one. A scared one at a push.
He figures that there’s probably no real difference.

Summary
Ernst, very unfortunately, thinks a lot.
And that’s something one might think to be good. For someone like Ernst, more thinking ought to do him well. Maybe it would stop him from failing his classes.
It doesn’t.
Or: Ernst Robel and all the ways that he’s struggling.

Summary
As soon as David wakes up, he’s in agony.
The piercing ache is low in his stomach, occasionally dulling out before returning full force.
He feels like there’s a grimy film over him. His hair is greasy and he’s probably bled through onto his sheets (which means he has to get up and change them, which takes energy he does not have). He’s sweating, trapped under his blankets, but his legs are too tired to kick them off.
And he has school.

Summary
“This is bullshit.” Gabe grumbles, gesturing at the email open on his laptop. “I miss a few days of school and they’re forcing me into their peer tutoring program?”
“You miss a lot more than a few days.” Natalie replies, sitting in the chair next to him. She rests her elbows on the kitchen counter, leaning forward slightly to read the email better. “You miss, like, at least one day every week.”
Or: Gabe Goodman misses a lot of school due to the fact that he's chronically ill, so he's forced into his school's peer tutoring program. His tutor is none other than David Fry.
