Random Encounters

Summary:

He had imagined many scenarios in which he would meet All for One again.

None of those scenarios involved them at a random meet and greet in a park. Or All for One having an oddly adorable child with him.

But here they were.

Work Text:

There were many different scenarios in which he imagined meeting All for One once again.

Typically, he believed that he would track him down to a secret hideout hidden away in the deep underbelly of some city. All for One would not dare to make his main source of refuge in some reclusive countryside hideout after all. He would most likely appear after a battle with his most senior of minions as well, showing up at the end of a long battle as the ‘final boss’.

He had, however, never thought that their next run in would be at a spontaneous meet and greet with fans at a random park.

But there he was, standing in line with many other disgruntled parents as he held on tightly to a small child’s hand.

His intense loathing was clear from the almost homicidal expression on his face. In contrast, the child he was holding onto seemed to be brimming with delight, a look of wonder and awe on his face as he clung to a small action figure in his image with his free hand.

“A-All Might! It’s really you!” he managed, his dark green eyes practically filled with stars.

It took him a few moments to really notice the child in front of him had actually spoken. He was a bit more preoccupied with thoughts like ‘All for One is standing right in front of me holding onto a small child. What is this shit?!

All for One cleared his throat after a few minutes of silence, the annoyance on his face somehow more pronounced on his face now.

“I believe that the child addressed you,” he hissed, “ Have you gone deaf from all the inane praise from your mindless follow-”

“Daddy!” the child interrupted the supervillain before he could finish with an indignant squawk, “Don’t be mean! Mommy says that you should be nicer to people!”

All for One glanced down at the child at his words, his face morphing into a more gentle expression.

What alternate universe was he in right now because he wanted out.

“..Of course. My apologies little one.” the man acknowledged, reaching down and ruffling the child’s hair.

The child did not seem placated by this though as a large pout appeared on his face.

“Then apologize to All Might Daddy!” he huffed.

He found himself biting his tongue in order to hide the laughter bubbling up in his throat. It was moments like these that he wished he had a camera, he mused, as he noticed the look upon his nemesis’ face upon hearing his child’s demands.

The 200 year old ruler of Japan's villains looked as if he had been told to enter a bear’s pen with a handful of fish. The man slowly turned looked back up to face him, his blood red eyes filled with venom.

“My… apologies All Might. Now, sign the child’s action figure for him so that the last thirty minutes were not a complete waste of my time.”

The child seemed pleased with this apology as he turned back to face him, a bright smile on his face.

“Please, please, please sign my action figure All Might!”

He blinked down at this small child, feeling a genuine smile form on his face.

He may have only met this child a few minutes ago, but he could tell there was something special about him.

Also he was able to tell off All for One to a degree and not get injured. That deserved at least a little awe, even if he was a small child.

“Of course young hero.” he put an emphasis on the last word, inwardly smirking at the way All for One’s hands twitched at that.

The child’s eyes somehow grew wider though as he held out the toy for him to sign.

"Do you think I can be a hero too All Might?” he questioned.

All for One’s child wanted to be a hero?

He was honestly wondering if he was dreaming at this point.

Still, he kept up his smile as he took the toy from him.

“But of course! I believe that anyone can be a hero Young…” he left the question open, giving the child an opportunity to give him his name.

“Izuku!” the child filled in before All for One could stop him.

“Izuku.” he nodded as he signed the toy, “ The name of a future hero!”

Little Izuku was practically glowing at his words. He tugged on his father’s arm, his smile even bigger.

“Did you hear him Daddy?! If All Might says I am going to be a hero, then I gotta be right?! All Might is always right!”

His nemesis patted the top of his son’s head, his face carefully blank as he addressed his child. But, looking closely, he was able to note the displeasure in his eyes at these words.

“Of… course Izuku.” he managed to keep his voice level.

He did not bother to hold back his smirk this time. It was clear on his face as he handed the toy back to the child and ruffled his bushy hair.

“I believe that you will be a great hero Young Izuku.”

Izuku hugged the action figure close to him and sent him a blinding smile, very pleased by this praise.

“Thank you All Might!”

Even knowing who his father was, he could not help but feel a odd sense of joy at the sight of the happy child.

“It was my-”

“Well, we better be off now Izuku!” All for One’s smile was clearly forced as he interrupted him, nudging his small child’s shoulder, “Say goodbye now.”

The child pouted up at his father but he did nod at his words.

“Bye bye All Might!” he waved the tiny hand holding his action figure at him.

His nemesis met his eyes for a brief second as he moved to leave with the child. He would never admit this out loud, but a shiver ran down his spine at the absolute loathing in his eyes.

The message within them was clear.

Try going after my child and I will destroy every single bit of this forsaken nation.

Then, he turned away, holding on securely to the child as they disappeared into the crowd, without bothering to wait for his own goodbye.

A breath he had not realized he was holding escaped him once he realized they were gone.

That could have gone a lot worse. But no fight had broken out, so he would consider that encounter somewhat of a victory.

Besides, that Izuku boy was rather adorable.

It baffled him how his father was All for One of all people though.

With a sigh, he turned to face the next parent, hoping for a easier interaction this time.

Then, he was met with the sight of a very annoyed Endeavor holding onto a red and white haired boy with wide mismatched eyes.

That did it.

No more random meet and greets at parks.

Notes:

Hello everyone!

So, today was a particularly shitty day so I decided to try my hand at this. Don't worry I have some more ... interesting fics and updates in the works. ;).

I actually found this fic in progress while looking for the one-shot I was originally planning on uploading. It seemed cute enough so I went to work finishing it. It's a bit different from what I usually do, but I tried my best.

I might update this eventually with a scene of Smol Izuku and Shouto talking while in line, but for now consider it completed!

Update wise, things may slow down a bit as i approach exams but I will try my best to get out either chapter three of What Lies Behind a Name or a one-shot within the next few weeks.

I hope you all enjoyed this fic!

If you want to talk to me, my writing tumblr is here!. Feel free to contact me there!
