Chapter 1

Notes:

Yes, it's me again with ANOTHER BakuDeku story, I know what you're thinking 'there is no way you're still not bored of this ship' but I'm still in love with them! I just can't help it. The other ship I really like is Kagehina, so maybe I'll do one of those in the future.

Chapter Text

Izuku was a normal everyday high schooler. Except he had the poor gift of being smaller and scrawnier than most of the other guys his age. He also had soft features and long eyelashes that made him look kind of girly, so he would often get picked on. The bullying started from the 5th grade all the way up to where he's currently at, which is the 11th grade. He had always waited for the day his growth spurt happened or any other physical growth but sadly that day never came. He was 5'6", 120lbs, and wore big blocky glasses.

The highlight of his day was coming home from school to work at his mother's bakery. He loved her pastries but his favorite thing she mad was her cinnamon buns, he would eat them constantly throughout his working hours, so many that his mom would scold him saying that he was eating all her products. It wasn't just him that loved her baking it, she had a strong amount of loyal customers that would come in all the time. Izuku loved that his mom was able to succeed in her business because she deserved it, especially after raising him by herself. Plus it was great that his friends were working there as well.

Today was exhausting for Izuku. He had taken three tests, one of which he completely forgot to study for, and had been mocked in the hallway much more than usual, he was even beat up after school. Though it was more their insults were the same, they loved using "Faggot, queer, whore". The words did hurt Izuku but he tried his best to brush them off. He wanted to leave everything at the door of the bakery and finish the day on a good note.

"Hey everyone!" He said as he walked through the door. He tried his best to pretend to be happy but really couldn't help but frown.

"Hi, Midoriya!" Ochaco waved her hand at him.

"Hello, Midoriya," Iida said pushing up his glasses.

"Welcome back," Todoroki said with a soft smile.

Izuku's been close with those three since the beginning of high school, they were his best friends. He told them all his problems and they listened while he complained about life, they were everything to him, the only people that kept him going, but sometimes he felt even they weren't enough.

"I'm glad to be back," Izuku sighed.

"Shigaraki again huh?" Ochaco asked knowing right away what happened.

"Yeah."

"I'm sorry Midoriya we tell you to get help from a teacher but you don't listen," Ochaco said moving her hand to his face to check the bruises that he knows were growing.

"It'll only make it worse." It's not like he never thought about going to a teacher for help, he just knew it would only lead to the bullying to get worse. He put on his apron and hat and began to make his mom's popular honey buns.

The day was slow, which was expected considering it was a Wednesday. The whole time Izuku chatted with the three of his friends about school and other random topics. That's what he loved about working in the bakery. Eating tasty treats while talking to friends. That was one thing Izuku can be happy about, being able to eat so many sweets and not gain a pound. He was always yelled at by Ochaco to give her some of his ability.

They were in the middle of a conversation when they heard the doorbell chime. Izuku looked up to see a blonde boy that looked around his age. He had crimson red eyes and ear piercings along the top of his ear. The boy was also much larger than he was, he had to be no less than 6'1'' and very defined arms which meant to Izuku that he worked out. He was captivated by him.

Wow, he's stunning, like really hot. His heart began to flutter as they made eye contact, he quickly got lost in those deep red eyes of his. It wasn't until a hand waving in front of him that Izuku realized the man was trying to order something.

"Hello?! I need a birthday cake, it doesn't need to be signed or anything, I just need it fast," The man grumbled.

"What flavor would you like?"

"I don't fucking know, uh vanilla with chocolate icing. It doesn't matter whatever pre-made one you have," The man said with an attitude.

Ugh, who took a crap in his corn flakes?

"I think we have one of those actually, Ochaco bring out the vanilla cake with the chocolate frosting!" He yelled to her and got a 'sure thing!' in response. Once she brought it out he wrapped it up for the customer. "Would you like anything else?" Izuku felt a blush fill his face as he made eye contact with the man again.

"No." He said flatly.

"Ok, that'll be $50," Izuku said.

"$50 fucking dollars? Is it made out of gold or some shit?" The man asked sarcastically. Izuku was about to respond when he was handed the money, "It doesn't matter, keep the change."

The man took the cake and left in a hurry. Izuku watched the man the whole time.

"He was hot right?" Ochaco said nudging him. Izuku's felt his face get even redder. He had come out to them almost a week after they met and luckily for Izuku they were all okay with it and completely supported him. The information of his coming out leaked to Shigiraki who made it his job to tell the entire school, that was a rough time. "Listen Izuku I love you, but you really need to go find someone, you can't just expect for someone to come crawling to you," she said.

"First of all, he was completely rude, hot but rude. Secondly, I know that boys aren't going to fall at my feet but you hear what people say to me at lunch...being gay is very scary! And lastly, I don't have the greatest self-confidence!" Ochaco was definitely his best friend, he loved like a sister and would do anything for her. She only shook her head at him.

"I don't see why not?"

"Look at me!"

"I am looking at you! And do you want to know what I see? I see a cute, kind-hearted nerd who is the loveliest person you would ever meet!" Her kind words filled his heart with warmth.

"Thanks, Ochaco, but no matter what you say I will never believe that someone could like me," He said. Ochaco was about to respond when another customer came in taking away their ability to conversate.

The rest of the day was slow like usual and during the time he was able to get his homework done. They waited for his mom to get back from a business discussion, she was going to see if Tim Horton's would by her store and help make it into a larger corporation, this would be huge for them.

Izuku reading his notes over when he heard the bell, at first he didn't think much of it, then he heard Ochaco call out "Mrs. Midoriya! How did everything go?" He looked up to a down looking Inko.

"Not well I'm afraid, they said we're doing well but not well enough and to come back to them in a year or two," She said in a low tone. Izuku was upset for his mother and wanted to keep her spirits up.

"I'm sorry mom, we'll make this a chain without their help!" He said passionately. She justed chuckled.

"You're too sweet."

"Whatever happens just know we're behind the two of you," Todoroki said with more emotion than Izuku ever heard from him.

"I agree," Iida added.

"Thank you, you're very good people, I'm glad my son chose you as his friends." Her statement caused Midoriya to blush a little.

To show her appreciation Izuku's mother made her special cinnabons for everyone. Once it was closing time and everyone left Izuku headed up to their apartment which was right above the shop. It was a great thing and a terrible thing at the same time. The good part about it was being able to wake up to the smell of fresh pastries, the bad part was being able to smell them at night. It made it that much harder to sleep when he had the smell of vanilla and chocolate in his nose constantly.

He laid on his back staring at the ceiling as he thought about the day.

Another day, another bruise. It just doesn't stop. If it wasn't for those guys at the bakery I don't think I would be able to go on living anymore. Luckily for me, I will always have them. I wonder though will I have someone closer than them someday?....HA! In my dreams!

Suddenly the thought of having a partner brought up the boy that came in the bakery trying to buy a cake.

He was really gorgeous. Big tall build with stunning red eyes. And those ear-piercings UGH! Like a guy with looks like that would ever want someone like me. I'm short, have nerdy glasses, and stupid freckles scattered across my face. What kind of cruel God would make someone like me?!

It was only 9 when Izuku decided that it was time for him to go to bed. He has had a long day and wanted a good night's rest.

Who knows maybe tomorrow will be better.

Notes:

I hope you enjoyed the first chapter of my story.

Ps, I fucking love Izuku with nerdy glasses! And I'm weak for people with freckles so don't be offended, please. I'm also under 5'10 and would not like to say exactly how tall.
