Chapter Text
"Water is the element of change."
― Iroh to Zuko. (Avatar: The Last Airbender)
Dying after choking on your own blood, is not a good way to go I can assure you of that. How did that come to be? Yeah none of your business.
Afterall that's not important, what is, is what comes after.
What came after death? Surprisingly I have an answer. Life, yeah turns out it's an endless cycle. I am darn sure I am not supposed to remember my past life.
But well we all have our quirks, pun intended.
Lying in my humongous crib chewing on my pacifier as I stared at the babbling little Momo I kept contemplating over my life.
Yaoyorozu Momo, Yaomomo, Creati was a very cute baby. I am biased yeah but she grew up to be a bombshell for a reason.
A nanny came over to pick us up and clean us interrupting my musing. Yay bath time, make note of the sarcasm.
Like everything in the Yaoyorozu household the bathroom was grand. Ornamental taps, jacuzzi all the works. The only reason me and Momo stayed together in one room because Yaomomma was told that it would be good for twins, as they have a special bond and sharing deepened it. Momo happily squealed and grabbed me. Her uncoordinated hands splashed me and motioned towards the mirror. 'Zu and Mo!" She squealed trying and failing to point at our reflections with her chubby fingers. I melted at the sheer cuteness.
Staring at both of us side by side it was pretty obvious we were both fraternal twins. Momo was adorable, with her voluminous black hair and narrow black slate grey eyes. I looked at myself. I didn't feel the cognitive dissonance despite seeing my features that weren't mine. The only difference that was overtly obvious between me and Momo as kids were our eyes. I had wider eyes than her the shape was similar tapering off towards the end. They were a surprising icy blue in colour . Like hard chips of ice. Other characteristic distinguishing feature, a mole on the right side of my chin.
Quirks, heroes, villains what a world I was born in... I mean reborn in. And my twin is going to be in the thick of most of the events.
I don't know whether to laugh in hilarity or cry in despair. One thing for sure I cannot leave her alone. That baby has become my whole world now. I was never completely sane before but now she is the one that has held me from tethering towards the brink of insanity. Unhealthy codependency yeah I know, I will start to wean off in a few years I swear. For now though I will cling to her as much as she would allow me too, which turns out was quite a lot as she giggled in delight and hugged me causing me to almost topple over if it wasn't for the nanny.
"My babies are so cute!" A lady that just screamed classy and elegant cooed as she clasped her manicured fingers together, causing the well suited up man beside her to huff out a laugh.
Yaomomma and Yaodaddy were a sexy couple, the epitome of rich and gorgeous in those fantasy romance novels.
I got pretty lucky in that regard. I could have born into an all villain family, as that handsy man's sibling or the daughter of All Might's antagonist. Or even as the kid of the flaming hypocrite.
As the nannies dried us off and handed over the grabby Momo who couldn't quite contain herself towards yaomum and me to yaodad I narrowed my eyes mulishly and nodded my head however much I could in determination, yeah I have decided. I am gonna keep this life I am quite attached to it.
Besides I can't wait to meet our future classmates. The cinnamon roll, the angry Pomeranian, the half hot half cold prince being my top picks. That little balled pervert better be prepared. Hell hath no fury like an incensed sister when her younger sisters chastity is threatened.
The years passed by quick, we were turning four. Life as a rich kid isn't that easy as they make out to be. You need to learn a lot of things. Primarily etiquette. I wasn't really bad but I am and will always be a sarcastic little shit at heart. Besides my baby twin was wonderful! She was a real genius taking to all the lessons like a duck to water. I felt like a proud momma bear.
Additionally we needed to learn a few extracurricular activities. I always enjoyed all sorts of arts so it was quite enjoyable for me. We got to chose an instrument or art. Basic dancing was of course a must but I chose to take it a step further. I had always loved to dance and whilst I had no formal training in my last life due to the conflicting schedule and life choices nobody would stop me now. I was loads better than I could have been last time too. My toddler body was surprisingly graceful. Momo was wonderful at playing the piano. Watching her hit the keys gleefully as I danced off to an imaginary dance choreo often looked over by our giggling mother and grinning father were the highlights of my younger life. Momo and I were blessed with wonderful parents, yes they were often busy but they made sure to take some time out for us. And despite all the charades the polite socializing we had to do in public and the discretion of affections in front of others I was content.
It made me frown to think of the events the future held. Looking at the happy go lucky precocious child my younger sister was, I couldn't imagine her turning out to be the responsible Yaomomo. Don't take me wrong she had a lot of potential to be one of the greatest heroes but at what expense? Her kind heart, innocent outlook in life gradually would shatter little by little. Is it bad that I want to hold onto her naivety for a little longer?
Guess I would have to play the therapist huh? Oh well, at least I am going to have superpowers. If I don't have a quirk well I am going to cause havoc and chaos so I better get that at least.
Whatever deity that has sent me here better be forewarned.
Turns out that deity took my warning seriously.
It occurred after we turned four. What? The appearance of our quirks.
We were playing in the blooming gardens of the Yaoyorozu estate. Momo squealed creating a super cute daruma doll replica of me and suddenly fainted which caused me to panic and cause a cascade of water out from the fountain into our gardens. Well I remember thinking hysterically our squadron of gardener's wouldn't need to water the plants today, besides thank God the koi are safe in the pond. Yaomomma would have cried at the loss of her prized koi pond. It was pandemonium, The nannies screamed, the bodyguards jumped into action causing our alarmed parents, quick acting doctors and muttering quirk specialists to arrive. How fun... not
The thing is quirks do have some rules. But it really depends upon your quirk and your own mind. The way you use it, is all up to you, just like in the world of One Piece the protagonist had a pretty lame devil fruit powers but he made it very powerful by his own battle prowess. It all centre's around the word. There is a reason why your quirk registration is so specific. My ability it turns out is water manipulation.
Now versatility, there is a reason I named my ability water manipulation it encompasses anything and everything what one would think of when manipulation word comes into play; it isn't my fault if idiots cannot understand the gravity of what I can do.
Afterall it's up to me if I want to be Percy Jackson, Katara, Aquaman, Tobirama or Juvia. Bring it on!
Momo's quirk was the most versatile quirk but mine wasn't any slouch. A lifetime of memories reading and watching fiction was well worth it.
Yeah no... There were limits. Considering this whacko society was still based on science, advanced weird ass genetic mutated one but science nonetheless.
Still, here element manipulation type quirks were categorized by people as powerful superhero quirks but not that special as compared to various amalgam of abilities seen. But for me? It is all I could do to not cackle like a maniac.
The possibilities are endless.
And no please whatever quirk theories you have of controlling blood, that's entirely different ball game. Water does not equate blood nor vice verse get that in your thick heads. Then again, I don't know if I would be able to do that considering I remember a thing called bloodbending in Avatar.
But well I sure as hell couldn't do Water Mimicry like Aquaman nor the healing aspect of water bending from avatar; at most I could cleanse or disinfect the wounds. Bloodbending was completely out, later I don't know if it would be possible but now it seemed the probability was in the negatives.
That were the most obvious things I couldn't do. Turns out there were a lot of restrictions but even more loopholes. I just needed to find them.
I kind of understand why Endeavour was so hell bent in getting the perfect quirked baby. Elemental powers are something else. Not that I agree with that asswipe but well he was shown to be redeemable.
I still have time, I am going to become one of most badass heroes of history. Why is it so that there are so less Top female pro heroes? That's gotta change.
But really?
Talk about being literal. Rebirth by water and spirit indeed...
