Third Time's the Charm

Summary:

You've heard of MonsterDeku, but what about MonsterShinso?

Chapter Text

Quirks were strange things, as varied as they came. But having three quirks was pushing it. He’s heard of people having two quirks, even though they were insanely rare. Maybe a few per generation. He’s never heard of someone having three. Normalcy didn’t exist for someone with that many quirks. Having to make sure to never use more than one or let someone see you use a different quirk since the last time they saw you.

The easiest thing to do is to just not use your quirks. Right?

No. It’s impossible for someone to suppress their quirk. It either gets harder to control, lashes out more often, or drives you insane. So hiding three quirks was a problem. Especially when you were only eight.

Shinsou was five when his first quirk appeared. Brainwashing. Not a great quirk to have in the age of heroes where people could be so black and white with their beliefs. His parents tried to keep him but they were young and inexperienced in being adults let alone in caring for a child. He’s been moved from house to house over the years. None were horrible but none were easy either. This next house worried him though.

The home was on the far side of town buried halfway between trees leading to the forest on the east side of Musutafu. The forest was massive, spanning hundreds of acres and only a few miles from the Dagobah beach. Shinsou visited the beach after school before heading home a few times a week. Recently the beach has been turned into a dumping ground for trash. No ones’ even attempted to clear it so it just piles up as the months go by. At this point it resembles a trash yard more than a beach.

The home was three stories tall and dark greenish blue. Shinsou thinks it used to be white before the repaint. Which must have been ages ago because the paint was already peeling again. The shutters were dark and splintering, the porch was a lost cause, half collapsed on the left side anyway. The roof was shedding black shingles and at the very top, the roof had menacing spikes that bit into the grey sky above. A few crows cawed loudly from between the black teeth. Shinsou was surprised the birds hadn’t been eaten yet.

The front door had a screen door, though the screen had a massive rip through the middle of it. He couldn’t believe someone actually lived here. And apparently he was supposed to live here now too. Were there no home visits from the people in suits? That was the reason he couldn’t stay at the last home. The woman with the sharp horn glasses with the little beaded strings draped around her neck and the tight hair bun took one look at him and told his foster parents that he needed to move onto the next home. Said that house wasn't a right fit for him.

Legally his quirk was listed as Brainwash though from the age of five to eight he acquired two extra quirks. His second quirk was similar to his first one. He called it Mimic in secret. He could mimic a voice or sound if he’s heard it at least once and was paying attention to remembering it. His third quirk was something else entirely. He tried to see if there was someone out in the world with a similar quirk to his third one on one of the old computers at the local library but came up with nothing. The only quirk that could be related to his was the number 11 hero Ryukyu with her dragon quirk. Though his new form was much scarier.

He couldn’t find any animal that looked anything like him. There were a few attributes that pointed at a few different animals but nothing that looked remotely like him. Not even in mythical books he read at the library. It took a while to pinpoint which parts of him were which animals but he thinks he’s got it down.

(description can be skipped there's a picture on part 1 of this series)

He has a wolf skull for a head with an impressive set of deer antlers. His eyes glowed purple in the dark and he could see much better than he could with his human eyes. He had a long body with a main of purple fur that tapered off into shorter hair at the base of his neck on to the rest of his body. He had an extra set of arms that were tucked closely into his chest. Long bear-like claws tipped the end of his set of front legs. His back legs resembled closer to deer legs, hooves and all. His tail was another matter altogether. His tail was alligator-like but was see-through. He could see his tail bones floating in murky purple… something. His ribs, forearms, and shins were also see-through. His tongue was also made of the same weird substance.

So all in all he had no idea what he was. All he knew was that if anyone found out he would be killed, or worse experimented on. Not only for his horrid appearance but his arsenal of multiple quirks as well.

The transformation was a fast experience. Shinsou was just glad that his human form and weird creature form were on different levels of existence. Thankfully his clothes didn't transfer over and shred to pieces every time he shifted. The only thing that gives him away when he’s shifting is the all composing cloud of purple fog that erupts off his form any time he shifts. His eyes are also the same in both forms, both purple with white pupils.
