PeterFeliciaWeek Series2

Summary:

PeterFelicia Week is a week-long event where writers, artists, and other creators are given a different theme each day to create content featuring Peter Parker/Felicia Hardy. This is my take on each of the themes of this series for my all-time favorite Spider-man pairing

Sept 13- Steal your heart/Regret (Spider-man PS4 universe)

*At Micks*

After teaming up with Silver Sable to defeat mecha Hammerhead, one would think that Peter would have all loose ends clear up. Sadly this isn't the case, for negative results came out of the war for New York. Captain Yuriko, who Peter consider a friend, went missing after killing her therapist that had other motives, to him and Mary Jane ending any idea of reconnecting relationship-wise when she decided to go to Symkaria to report on what's going on over there and to top it off Felicia Hardy came back from her so call death reminding Peter of the harsh reality of not having a son with her.

Before she apparently was killed by Hammerhead, Felicia as Black Cat reappeared in Peter's life to seek his help stealing the villain's drive to gain more wealth but insisted that her son was kidnapped while dropping hints that Peter was the father. When realizing that it was a major lie, Peter had a lot of mixed emotions that he didn't fully deal with due to all that was going on at the time, and thus leads to where we are now with him making contact with his former girlfriend outside of costume to address everything.

Currently, at the dinner, Peter contemplates how he should explain his feelings until he hears the door open and looks up to see the woman of the hour enter the building and walks over to him as if she is in the mood to celebrate. "Congrats Spider, it seems like you and wannabe silver hair me had what it took to stop Hammerhead for good. Though, of course, I shouldn't expect anything less when it comes to you." She cheers while sitting down across from her former boyfriend, not fully paying attention to the shift expression on his face.

"Why?" is the only thing Peter mutters at that moment, trying to contain the anger that's boiling inside him.

"Excuse me?" Felicia tilts her head, confuse by his tone.

"Why did you put me through all that? Faking your death, stringing me along, lying to me about our nonexistent child?" Peter questions with a hint of anger but still not looking up at her.

Felicia is taken back by this side of him. From her understanding, Peter usually didn't hold grudges towards her, but she couldn't fully blame him this time. "Spi- Peter, I know what I did to you was wrong, but-"

"Wrong is not even the word that describes it." Peter interrupts her angrily.

Now the attitude from Peter starts to get under Felicia's skin. "Come on, can you cut me a bit of slack? I did come back and say sorry at the end on top of helping you as a peace offering."

Hearing that response causes Peter to finally lift his head to glare at Felicia face to face. "Felicia, if you really think that type of apology will make things go away, you are sadly mistaken. While yes, I appreciate you giving me the information I needed at that moment, that doesn't change the fact that your intentions came across as selfish."

"To be fair, I told you in the past that you shouldn't have high expectations when it came to me. Ultimately, I got what I wanted, thanks to you. Though I admit, I did feel bad about how I conned you in the process, knowing you wouldn't have assisted with my goal otherwise. That's part of the reason why I came out of hiding for you to try and make up moreover my actions." Felicia explains, hoping that Peter will accept these reasons and the two can go back to normal.

Unfortunately, Peter isn't taking the explanation for, in his opinion, Felicia does not see the bigger picture. "It's sad to this day that you downplay the good in you and not fully understand why I'm furious."

Before Felicia asks what he means, Peter raises a hand to break down how he truly feels. "The leading me on the part of your plan I can deal with, coming back and not being dead I'm glad that wasn't the case and something I can handle; however, the fact that you had me believe me that you and I had a child together only to find out it was nothing more of a ruse to help you steal something and almost causing chaos in the city is not something that I can easily brush aside. It hurts whenever I think about it because during that time, not only was I thinking how I would need to adjust as a father, I also started wondering, what if we could work out for him."

The last part about the idea of the two workings out as a couple throws Felicia completely off. While she too had thoughts of the two getting back together officially, Felicia assumes that it wouldn't happen between her lifestyle as a thief and, at the time, Peter wanting his ex back. If she didn't regret her decision now, she truly does now especially seeing the tears starting to fall from Peter's eyes while sharing his inner thoughts.

"That's right; I still have those feelings for you, whatever you care or not to know. Regardless of how bad that might be for me, I can't help whenever you cross my path; I feel drawn by your presence. Even when you tease me, I think of how nice it is that someone as beautiful and hot as you would give me that type of attention. I can't forget how you and I got together when you said you wanted to try a different path while helping me get over MJ. Speaking of her, it's no surprise we are currently not together. So yes, I probably shouldn't have those expectations when it comes to you, but you know what, that's just how love works sometimes. No one is perfect, but if the love is that strong for each other, it can sometimes work. I know if our child were real, I would try my hardest to be a great father to him and be the best partner for you at the same time." Finally, the tears fall from Peter's eyes, causing Felicia to do the same as the realization they both love each other flow through their mind.

After a bit of silence, Felicia attempts to share how she feels, "Peter."

However, right as she calls his name softly, Peter gets up from his seat to leave, not wanting to hear any more excuses or lies. "Save it, I can't anymore right now, yet I guess it doesn't matter anyway. You got what you wanted at the end, so I serve no purpose in your life right now."

He turns towards the door and makes his way out before slightly looking back at Felicia with a sad smile to say his last peace. "So congratulations on your huge heist; not only did you manage to steal that drive... but you manage to steal my heart. Take care of yourself."

"Wait, Peter!" Felicia pleads for him to stop, but it's too late as Peter exits the dinner leaving her to ponder the last thing he said to hear. For the first time in a long time, she cries, her eyes now understanding the pain she caused to the man of her life, managing to only say between her sobs, "I'm sorry Peter. I'm so so sorry."
