    Summary

“When I write,” Rey whispered once the man’s voice had died out. She had a gleam in her eyes.
Like others like him had. Like Kylo probably had.
“When I write, the victims-... The bad guys, the ones that are fucked over and don’t… The bad ones, are all based on someone I know. Someone who deserves it.”
Kylo picked up a scalpel and made some swirls on the man’s pec. There were no words for what Rey said, so he only took hers in. A half-coherent admittance of wanting to be someone who could be considered like him.
He knew what she meant, too. Two types of victims. Ones you rooted for- ones she usually spared, or else, gave unholy vengeance to- not those ones.
The bad ones. Usually, the antagonist after the main character got ahold of them, or a demon from a secondary character’s past. The ones not rooted for, who only existed to be a victim to the blood and gore and suffering that the reader was, at least in part, really there for.
She’d always been like him. She just hadn’t acted on it yet.
No, no. She’d never set the good ones free. But they just saw that differently, and that was okay.
She was better than he could ever dream of being. He’d listen to what she saw.
