Chapter Text
“Young master, are you inside the bathroom?”
Kim Rok Soo could hear the vicious old butler’s voice outside the door. He should panic, but his brain was too calm. He woke up as a side character in a novel that he binge-read before he fell asleep. Then to confirm his situation, he sent the butler away and went to check his current body inside the bathroom.
His black hair and average face turned into a devilishly handsome man with dark red hair. Unexpectedly, this body, Cale Henituse’s body was pretty fit for a person famous for being trash. More unexpectedly, Cale Henituse’s arms were covered in scars. Not the kind of scars that Kim Rok Soo had because he was fighting for his life for more than tens of years. But the kind of scars that obviously self-made.
‘Cale Henituse in the book only appeared for a few sentences in volume one. I don’t know what happened to him after he was beaten to a pulp. But…’
This Cale Henituse didn’t have the scar he received from trashing around a few days before his encounter with the main character of the novel.
‘Then these scars on his arms couldn’t be Choi Han’s doing. No matter how I looked at it, it looked self-made. The book didn’t say that Cale Henituse was this type of character? And this one…’
Kim Rok Soo touched the side of his neck. An ugly yet faint scar around the side of his neck was the most concerning thing.
‘This is serious, it looked like someone slashed his neck with a knife. Either the cut was shallow, or the power used to heal him was tremendous.’
“Something like this—,” Kim Rok Soo closed his mouth and recalled every single detail about Cale Henituse in the book.
To Kim Rok Soo, Cale Henituse was an interesting character. He was famous for being trash, but the level of chaos was…mild? He was an alcoholic who break things around him, but he only assault thugs and problematic people. He avoided his stepmother and stepsiblings but listened to his father to a degree. There was also how he had zero malicious rumors with women because everyone tried to avoid him.
“So what did this trash do, for someone to hold so much grudge against him?”
“Young master?”
“Yes. I’ll be right out,” Kim Rok Soo frowned at his own answer and pushed aside the problem with Cale Henituse’s body. First thing, he needed to push that old man to the main character and send him away. Currently, Ron was the most dangerous thing around him right now. Furthermore, Kim Rok Soo had doubts about Cale Henituse’s scars.
‘There is no way that an assassin master wouldn’t notice these things. Either Ron was behind Cale Henituse’s condition, or the butler simply didn’t care whether this young master die or not. Considering the novel’s plot, it should be the later.’
In the novel, Ron and his son left with the main character after Cale Henituse was beaten to a pulp. Even though Ron was someone who stayed with Cale Henituse the longest, the ex-assassin was also the one who left in cold blood. He was smiling gently, but there was not an ounce of care for Cale Henituse on the inside.
Kim Rok Soo must avoid the beating part, but still push Ron and his son to the main character.
‘There are too many strong people here. At least, I need the strength to protect myself.’
