Just A Sleepover

Summary:

A sleepover. That was it. Just a simple sleepover; nothing to worry about, except for that Sadie was there too. You ran your fingers through your hair, there was no reason to be nervous, it wasn't like you had a crush on her. You looked at yourself in the mirror before resting your face into your hands, who were you kidding? You definitely had a crush on her, not a mild one, a flaming, spicy-hot, burning one. There was definitely a reason to be nervous.

This can also be seen as a second part to my first Sadie x reader fic (Meeting Her)

Work Text:

A sleepover. That was it. Just a simple sleepover; nothing to worry about, except for that Sadie was there too. You ran your fingers through your hair, there was no reason to be nervous, it wasn't like you had a crush on her. You looked at yourself in the mirror before resting your face into your hands, who were you kidding? You definitely had a crush on her, not a mild one, a flaming, spicy-hot, burning one. There was definitely a reason to be nervous.

It had been years since you first met Sadie, and it hadn't taken long for you to fall head over heels for her. And who wouldn't? She was just amazing, one of the best people you have ever met. Every time she walked into a room you could feel your heart flutter in your chest, beating against your ribcage. Her fiery red hair standing out in whatever crowd she stood in, her sky-blue eyes staring into the depths of your soul and her bright smile beaming at you-

"Y/N! Hurry up, the film's nearly starting!" Millie shouted from the living room. You quickly collected yourself and let out a deep breath before leaving the bathroom. You stopped dead in your tracks, everyone was here and there's was only one space left and that was next to her. Your eyes flicked to Millie's and a cheeky smirk found it's way onto her lips. Ohh you were so going kill her as soon as everyone left. "Sit next to Sadie, Y/n/n." She teased.

You flashed her a fake smile before throwing her the finger, making sure Sadie couldn't see it, and sitting down next to Sadie. "Hi," Sadie whispered, smiling at you. Your heart began to beat so loudly in your chest, you hoped she wouldn't be able to hear it.

"Hi," you somehow managed to whisper just as quietly back. You watched as she brought bags out from under her blanket and you raised an eyebrow at her.

"I stole some snacks before Gaten could get to them." She grinned and you couldn't help but smile back. However, your smile instantly fell when you heard the opening to the film. You knew that film so well you could recite it from memory and you let out a groan.

"Again?" You grumbled, looking over your shoulder at Millie, silently teasing her. Sadie took this moment to admire your side profile. Not many people complimented you and, sure, you weren't the prettiest, but that didn't mean you weren't attractive. She found you very attractive. You were the type of attractive that took longer than a single glance to notice and, as the two of you grew up, she began to notice it more and more.

"Of course, it's only the best film to ever exist." You shook your head and rolled your eyes with a smile before focusing your attention onto the film.

Six films later and you could hardly keep your eyes open and you could tell that Sadie was tired too. Her eyes lolled every now and then and she was quieter, you smiled to yourself, she looked cute. You rubbed at your eyes and stared at the screen; so tired that nothing was being processed by your brain. You felt a weight suddenly drop onto your shoulder and you let out a frightened gasp, causing Sadie to jolt up too. Your heart beat wildly in your chest. And, though it could have just been the lightning, you saw a blush spread across her face.

"Sorry," she whispered apologetically and you felt your heart twinge. Her voice was groggy and just barely above from being too quiet to hear.

"No, no, sorry for jumping like that, you can- you can sleep if you want to." You offered and you mentally bashed yourself, what the hell were you doing? She gave you a soft, sleepy smile and nodded her head lightly. You felt her shift beside you before resting her head in your legs. You held your breath. You hadn't expected- you didn't expect anything for that matter- for her to lay on your legs. You were done for. You didn't even attempt to see if anyone was watching you, and if they were, you weren't ready for Millie's stupid grin.

Not even a minute later, you felt Sadie's breathing even out. She was asleep. You let out a quiet sigh of relief, you were surprised she had been able to stay up so late. Usually she's asleep by ten, half past ten at the latest, and you looked up at the clock to see that it well past midnight. You let out a yawn and, before you knew it, you felt yourself nodding off.

"Shut up, Noah!" Someone hushed.

"They're practically hugging." Another voice giggled.

"Shhhh, she's waking up." Someone else whispered.

You breathed in and stretched. Something was blocking your arms. You opened your eyes and a face appeared no closer than five inches from yours. Her face. Sadie's face. With a yelp you scrambled back and- bang! Your head smashed into the coffee table. Sweets jumped to the floor and scattered. You winced and rubbed the back of your head. All of the commotion caused Sadie to wake and stare in shock as you mirrored her. The hysterical laughing in the background muffled just by looking at her.

"Sadie! Sadie!" Millie screamed as she fell to her side, "You've got to see this!" Sadie looked around, confused, as the boys crowded around her too before focusing on Millie's phone. You watched as Millie swiped through her phone, showing Sadie all the pictures she had taken as the two of you slept and you could tell by the noise that she had gotten the video of you waking up too. Your face felt red-hot and Sadie's cheeks were tinged with pink and you felt your heart leap, but, you thought to yourself, it was probably just because she was embarrassed.

You were quiet for the next hour and as everyone slowly filed out of the room, you got up and grabbed an icepack from the freezer. You sat down on the bed and pressed it against the back of your head, instantly you let out a hiss, you hadn't expected it to be so sore. Your phone dinged beside you, it was Millie, and the icepack was left discarded behind you. You opened her message to find that she had sent you all the photos, heat trickled to your face; the two of you move a lot in your sleep, like some sort of unconscious dance. Your faces were so close, arms and legs tangled together, both of you blissfully unaware to what you were doing. You had never slept so well.

"What're you smiling at?" Your eyes flicked from your phone to the door. Sadie stood her hand on the handle as she slightly leaned inside. You hadn't even realised you were smiling.

"Nothing." You said a little too quickly fumbling as you turned your phone off. You watched as Sadie raised an eyebrow.

"I brought you an icepack," she waved it in the air. You smiled at her and as subtly as you could, you hid the one from behind you under the duvet. "Can I?" She asked as she gestured beside you. Your heart beat frantically against your ribcage and, because no words would come out, you nodded. You felt the bed dip beside you and you stared at her as she moved, you held your breath. She brought the icepack carefully to your head and you couldn't help but wince. Her blue eyes snapped to yours and you gawked as she held your gaze. Automatically, your eyes flicked down to her lips and when you looked back, you had never seen her pupils so dilated.

You swallowed anxiously. Was she leaning in? Were you? What was happening? Were you breathing too fast? Were you even breathing? You searched her eyes, was this really happening? Bottom lip between her teeth, she smiled softly at you and then...she kissed you or you kissed her. You didn't know, but it didn't matter. You didn't want to say that time stopped, but there was no other way to describe it. Her hands cradled your face and you rested a hand just above her heart, fingers grazing her collar bone. You could feel it, her heart; thrumming against your palm.

You both pulled away and she let out a laugh, and you did the same. "I think I like you," you breathed out.

"You think?" She grinned and you grinned back.

"I- I do like you. I like you a lot and I've liked you ever since we met and-" You were rambling.

"I like you too." You breathed out a sigh of relief, she liked you too.

"Does this mean we're y'know-"

"Girlfriends?" She suggested and you nodded. "Yeah, if you want to be." She looked at you, she was nervous.

"Yeah. I do." You smiled and she smiled back.
