“Excuse me for not considering all the other flying people out there,” Elphaba drolls, then glances around. They’re in some sort of contraption—a metal platform encased in a shiny, shifting transparent sphere—hovering steady in the fog. “What the hell even is this thing?”
“My bubble,” Glinda announces with a proud lift of her chin.

It was like the marble floor had suddenly dissolved into water, and now she couldn’t find her footing. Because she had to be wrong. This girl couldn’t possibly be her daughter. Logic went against it, even though she had Glinda's eyes and smile and Elphaba's furrow in her brow.
It should have been impossible, even though Elphaba's heart was saying otherwise
Or: After receiving a life changing revelation, Elphaba finds herself accepting a deal to stay in the Emerald City four years post DG. Now it's up to her and Glinda to protect their family while bringing the regime down from the inside.
