"How to...?" Elphaba responded.
"To touch yourself!" she exclaimed. Elphaba's expression turned to shock.
"I can show you! Elphie, you can't just never have an orgasm." Galinda pleaded, not knowing what she was getting herself into. "I can teach you. I really don't mind. Friends do these things for each other, you know."
OR
Galinda learns Elphaba has never touched herself before, so she decides to take matters into her own hands (and not just metaphorically).

“Excuse me for not considering all the other flying people out there,” Elphaba drolls, then glances around. They’re in some sort of contraption—a metal platform encased in a shiny, shifting transparent sphere—hovering steady in the fog. “What the hell even is this thing?”
“My bubble,” Glinda announces with a proud lift of her chin.

It was like the marble floor had suddenly dissolved into water, and now she couldn’t find her footing. Because she had to be wrong. This girl couldn’t possibly be her daughter. Logic went against it, even though she had Glinda's eyes and smile and Elphaba's furrow in her brow.
It should have been impossible, even though Elphaba's heart was saying otherwise
Or: After receiving a life changing revelation, Elphaba finds herself accepting a deal to stay in the Emerald City four years post DG. Now it's up to her and Glinda to protect their family while bringing the regime down from the inside.

She banishes the Wizard and imprisons Madame Morrible. She disbands the Gale Force and places Fiyero's murderers on trial at the Hall of Justice. She has her staff gather all of the Wicked Witch propaganda within the palace and orders it to be incinerated. She issues a proclamation denouncing discrimination against the Animals, and rallies the League of Governors to repeal anti-Animal legislation across Oz.
However. There is one thing she hasn't quite figured out.
"Glinda?" Pfannee steps into her office. "Dorothy's asking for you again."
Glinda's forehead hits her desk with a resolute thud. "Oz help me," she groans. "Tell her to go away."
Or: After the Melting, Glinda puts herself back together through sheer force of will. There's work to be done, and she is the one person who can do it all.

Summary
She had to see Glinda. There was no way magic could erase a love as deep as theirs. Glinda would remember that, as soon as they were in the same room together. Elphaba was sure of it. She wouldn’t allow herself to consider anything else.
Or: Two years post DG, Glinda the Good disappeared. Now she’s back, claiming she was held prisoner by the Wicked Witch of the West. This is news to Elphaba.

The memories of the Melting wouldn’t leave her, and neither did the grief. Glinda tried everything she could to fall asleep: switching rooms, rubbing lavender lotion on her hands, even drinking a foul tasting concoction that one of her handmaidens swore would put her to sleep as soon as her head hit the pillow (it didn’t). And even when she did manage to fall asleep sometime just before dawn, Elphaba’s screams jarred her awake.
So one night Glinda found herself sitting at the desk in her study with a blank sheet of paper in front of her. Dear Elphaba, she wrote, and then watched the words waver at the top of the page. She crossed them out and started over. Dearest Elphaba . It was ridiculous. Elphaba would never read her words again. But she found that they came anyway, faster than she could commit them to paper.
Or: Glinda begins writing letters to Elphaba in the aftermath of the Melting. When she pushes herself beyond the point of exhaustion four years later, Chistery decides to take matters into his own hands and deliver the letters to Elphaba in an attempt to save Glinda's life.
