He gets bottled water for them both from the fridge, watching the kid. Didn’t dry his hair properly after the shower, didn’t even try, and it’s probably made the inside of his hat wet. Kids going to make himself sick. He watches as Shane meanders around his lounge, reading book spines, looking at the pictures. Ilya likes his apartment, but he wonders what it looks like through Shane’s eyes. He wonders vaguely if Shane likes it.
Ilya just leans against the kitchen counter, waiting.
The kid stops in frontthat picture, his head tilted as he studies it. Frowns at the Boston team. Frowns at the team posing on the ice, the cup front and center. Sees it on the kids face when he turns, a look of dawning comprehension on his face, “Ilya. Ilya Rozanov?”
Ilya lets it happen, just nods, pretends like that other life was nothing to do with him.
“I...I’ve seen you play. Used to go to games sometimes, with my Mom, when I was a kid. She wanted me to be a hockey player, when I was young,” Shane shrugs, “wasn’t for me though too...aggressive.”
Ilya raises an eyebrow, gesturing with his water, “and you so small. You would get killed.”

As they stare out at the rain, Eddie reaches over for Buck’s wrist, gently wrapping his fingers around until his fingertips rest right against Buck’s pulse point. He’s taken to doing this regularly during the day, sometimes even unconsciously. He needs the reminder that Buck is here, he’s safe, he’s right under his hands and he’s not going to disappear again.
After about a minute has passed, Eddie leans his head against Buck’s shoulder while still lightly holding onto his wrist. Buck immediately rests his head atop Eddie’s, both happily accepting the closeness.
After a couple peaceful minutes pass, Eddie quietly clears his throat and minutely tightens his grasp. “Um… Can I try something?”
He feels Buck’s jaw shift slightly as he responds, “Course you can.”
Eddie takes a moment, heart speeding up, and then slowly turns his head until his lips lightly touch the pulse point in Buck’s neck. He presses a soft kiss there, and feels Buck take a sharp breath.

Aou’s expression shifted - attentive, steady. “You just did.”
Boom rolled his eyes softly, stalling for half a second longer. The rain intensified, drumming against the glass.
“This thing,” he began, gesturing vaguely between them. “What is it?”
Aou looked at him for a long moment. “You tell me.”
Boom let out a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding. “I don’t usually- ” He stopped, recalibrated. “I don’t want to guess wrong.”
Aou’s hand moved slightly on the couch cushion, close enough that Boom could feel the warmth radiating from his skin.
“I like being here,” Aou said quietly. “With you.”
The simplicity of it made Boom’s chest ache.
“I like you,” Boom replied, voice steadier than he felt. “In case that wasn’t obvious.”
Aou’s mouth curved again, softer this time. “It was moderately obvious.”
“Okay,” he said. “Well.”
He reached up, fingers brushing Aou’s cheek lightly, giving him enough space to pull away.
“Can I kiss you?”
Aou was still smiling and nodded. “Mm.”
OR: Aou and Boom meet, fall in love, are in love. Until they aren't. Maybe.
