“Yim gef se!”
Law’s face flushed scarlet at what he’d blurted out.
“Um, I mean, it means th-the door’s open,” he made up on the spot.
Luffy just smiled, as if Law randomly blurting out words in a different language wasn't utterly embarrassing. “That’s cool! I don't think I could learn a whole new language like you wixen do; I have enough trouble as it is just with English. I nearly failed that quiz Wednesday.”
Law stuttered and stammered, though he mostly just froze and didn't say anything, and barely made it out of the mess of a conversation in one piece.
Unfortunately, that was only the first of many times that Law ended up blurting embarrassing things in Lekan, the language that wixen needed to learn in order to cast spells, and then had to cover for his outbursts by making up stupid meanings for the things he’d blurted like “bread is nasty” and “hell rice.”
Luffy, being the ray of sunshine that he was, always laughed and smiled, praising Law and chatting about this and that despite Law’s silence. Law really didn't understand why Luffy even bothered talking to him, to be honest.
The most popular guy and the best jock in this college for supernaturals—and that was saying something—actually chatted with Law of all people during class, a loner wix whom no one ever willingly approached.
Law didn't understand, and apparently, neither did anyone else.
“Why do you even talk to him?” Law overheard Usopp ask Luffy one day. “He’s so creepy, always wearing black, and he never talks—he just glares at everyone.”
“He talks to me,” was Luffy’s reply.
“I’ve seen your conversations,” continued Usopp, a fellow werewolf just like Luffy, though he wasn't an alpha like Luffy was. “It’s completely one-sided. It’s just you talking at him. He just stands there glaring at you, and sometimes says something in Lekan. He’s probably cursing you for all you know!”
Usopp’s worries flew right over Luffy’s head. “Hm, really?” asked Luffy. “That’d be so awesome if he was! Curses are really hard to cast, aren't they?”
“Well…yeah, but that wasn't my point!”
“What the heck’s your point, then?”
Law walked away, not wanting to eavesdrop.
After that conversation, though, Law noticed that Luffy didn't smile as much when Law slipped up and blurted something in Lekan, instead looking pensive, brows furrowed.
Panic rose in Law’s heart.
He liked Luffy so much and hoped Luffy would keep talking to him, but he couldn't help his poker face or the way his eyes glared even though he didn't mean to or his quiet nature. It wasn't as if Usopp was wrong—Law rarely talked unless he had to, but as a result, he sucked at conversations.
Especially when it came to Luffy.
So he tried his best to at least stop blurting embarrassing things out in Lekan when he got flustered, and tried to remember basic questions he could ask Luffy to make small talk.
It never really completely worked out, but it was a work in progress. Law at least wasn't just standing there silent as a tree now—he could say a few words, and in English at that.
One day in his potions class, though, they all learned how to make an Emotion draught. The premise was straightforward—it was a potion that stored a particular emotion you felt, and when drunk, the person would feel that same emotion for a short while.
The only thing was, it was quite a popular potion to give as a means of confessing one’s love. All the wix had to do was imagine their crush during a particular step of making the potion, and the potion would store their feelings towards their crush—it was a simple, but romantic way of confessing.
Law wondered if he should give his potion to Luffy.
He’d imagined Luffy when making it, so it was really a matter of whether he should give it to Luffy or not, because when would he get an opportunity like this again? The potion might be straightforward, but the ingredients weren't exactly common, not to mention brewing it required specific conditions and precision, which was probably why all the wixen in his class were using this chance to confess to their crushes.
Luffy, in particular, was surrounded by wixen, and at least ten unopened Emotion potions given to him by others sat on his desk.
Law wasn't expecting anything from Luffy, of course, even if he did give him the potion, and he most certainly wasn't expecting Luffy to drink it—werewolves were particularly susceptible to potions out of other supernatural creatures due to their enhanced senses, so they generally didn't drink potions unless they trusted the person who gave it to them.
Which was probably why Luffy hadn't touched any of those potions.
Law hesitantly walked up to where Luffy sat, surrounded by some wixen and classmates, potion bottle in hand, only for the people around Luffy to notice Law first before Luffy did.
“Oh Merlin, don't tell me you're giving that to Luffy,” said one of the wixen, shocked to see Law standing there, silent as a rock.
“Why is it black?” asked another wix, wary as they stared at Law’s potion. “What is it, a curse?”
Luffy was staring at Law by now, and greeted him with a smile and a wave.
“No,” Law replied to the wix.
Someone else asked, “Are you actually confessing then?”
“Of course not,” a classmate said with a snort. “He's probably lying, idiot—why would he say it's a curse if it was a curse?”
“It looks so suspicious,” another wix warned Luffy. “You shouldn't drink that.”
Law wanted to cry. “It’s, it’s not…”
“Even if you glare at us, it doesn't change the fact that that looks suspicious.”
Luffy seemed to not even hear them, however, looking only at Law with an encouraging smile. “How were classes, Torao?” he asked Law, ignoring the whole lot of them. “I heard the wixen had it tough today. Is that for me?”
Law's hands shook. “Rekhe,” he whispered before walking away, his classmates chatting about how creepy it was that he’d just stood there glaring at them for no reason.
‘Sorry’ was what he'd told Luffy, although Luffy wouldn't understand even if he'd heard him.
Law sat down outside the school building in the grass against the wall, a window right above his head, and wondered why he'd ever thought that would be a good idea.
Of course it’d seem like he was up to no good giving a jet black potion to Luffy.
He bit his lip, willing himself not to cry. Most of all, he just hoped Luffy hadn't misunderstood—it would be nice if Luffy still talked to him from time to time.
Law took a sip of the potion.
Immediately, a warm, heart-pounding feeling settled in his body, stirring his stomach into gentle flutters and lifting his spirits a little.
Luffy always had that effect on him, always brightening Law’s day beyond belief just by talking to him a little.
Law just hoped Luffy didn't lose interest in him, because it was a miracle that Luffy still talked to him. He didn't even know why Luffy had started talking to him to begin with.
“Hey, that’s my potion!” an all-too-familiar voice came from above Law, snatching the bottle out of Law’s hands.
Law froze, until he saw Luffy actually drink a sip—his jaw dropped in disbelief.
“Hm, tastes like blueberries and lemon.” Luffy licked his lips, then smiled down at Law. “This feels nice. What emotion did you put in it?”
“U-Um….” Law changed the subject. “You look tired. Do you have exams coming up?”
Luffy, thankfully, did not comment on the unnatural shift in topic. “No, but I’ve been studying a language recently. Anyway, why’d you leave so quickly? I didn't have a chance to give this to you.”
He handed Law a small container of onigiri. “You’re always just nibbling on chips during lunch and you said you hate bread, so I had Sanji make these for you.”
Law stared down at the immaculate assortment of different flavored onigiri in surprise and overwhelming emotion that Luffy had done this, for him.
“Oh. Um.” His voice caught. “Th-Thanks.”
He looked up at Luffy, who flashed a warm, blinding smile.
Law nearly teared up and confessed right there and then, only to startle when Luffy leaned out the window, head craning over Law’s, and kissed Law upside-down on the lips.
Law’s heart stopped.
And then Luffy laughed, bright like the sun, and kissed the shocked speechless Law again, over and over, nose brushing Law’s chin.
As if that wasn't enough, as if Law wasn't already dying, Luffy deepened the kiss. He pulled back so he could hop out the window, landing silent as ever beside Law, and hand on the back of Law’s neck, he kissed Law properly now, deeply, as if he was starving.
Law tried to kiss back, unsure if he was doing it right, but if he wasn't, Luffy didn't comment, instead growing impossibly heated.
And by impossibly heated, Law meant that Luffy’s skin was much too warm, too hot, as if he was a melting sundae pressed up against the wood in a sauna.
“Are you…are you okay?” asked Law, pulling back a little. “Are you on your rut?”
Luffy’s breaths came out in short huffs, and his normally warm brown eyes flashed yellow. “Yeah. Have been. Don't worry, I took my wolfsbane for today. You’re just….”
Law swallowed, heart beating a million miles an hour.
“You’re just driving me crazy,” finished Luffy as he pressed more kisses on Law’s lips. “Your taste and your smell—can’t get enough. But I’m in control.” He pulled back. “So don't worry about me doing anything you don't want or randomly changing into a wolf.”
Law stared at Luffy, at the way Luffy stared at him with those yellow eyes, the way Luffy licked his lips, and blurted, “I-It’s okay. I”—he swallowed—“I want it. So—”
Luffy covered Law’s lips with a thorough kiss as he pulled up Law’s shirt, hands running up Law’s body. “You sure?” He began to unbutton Law’s pants. “Do you know what you're saying?”
Law nodded and tried to help Luffy take off his bottoms, face flushed red that this was actually happening, before Luffy paused, giving Law’s cock a stroke as he glanced up at Law.
“Don’t know if we can go all the way,” said Luffy. “This is your first time, right?”
“O-Oh, um, well….” Cheeks burning even hotter than Luffy’s skin, Law just chanted something in Lekan instead of finishing his sentence and moaned at the odd, but titillating sensation filling his hole, wetting it with slick.
A rumbling growl from Luffy’s chest sent shivers down Law’s spine, and wholly unprepared for Luffy’s next act, Law cried out when Luffy abruptly lifted his ass and licked his hole, tongue delving in and scooping up more of Law’s slick over and over and over again.
“Fuck, how do you even know this spell?” rasped Luffy when he finally pulled away, another growl escaping his throat when he saw how blissed out Law’s face was just from that. “A spell to present yourself like an omega werewolf—are you trying to make me lose my mind?”
Law panted, chest heaving. “Tome. Tome about werewolves.”
“What, and you just happened to memorize this spell?”
Law stammered and didn't respond, but the embarrassed scarlet flush on his face that spread to his ears told Luffy all he needed to know. With a deep growl, Luffy pushed into Law in one thrust and set a hard, ruthless pace, eyes trained on the way Law arched his back and nearly screamed in pleasure.
“Were you imagining this when you read it?” growled Luffy, hands gripping the sides of Law’s upper torso to keep Law in place as his thumbs teased Law’s nipples. “Fantasizing about me?”
Law’s eyes rolled back, and his tongue lolled out of his open mouth. “N-No—” He cut off on a squeal when Luffy switched positions, pulling Law upright to sit on his lap before fucking Law even harder and deeper on his cock than before.
Face a mess and mind a blissed fog, Law moaned for more, for Luffy, and begged to be bred as Luffy fucked him up and down on his lap with arousing ease. He didn't know how many times he’d come, only that he shared sloppy kisses with Luffy, barely aware of the way Luffy watched him as if imprinting every detail into mind, until Luffy stopped fucking him and instead held Law tight and close.
The base of Luffy’s cock swelled, lodging itself firmly within Law, and then Luffy finally came. He bit Law’s neck as he spilled wave after wave of cum inside Law, and Law came again, his hole spasming and milking every last drop from Luffy’s cock.
But of course, Luffy just had to rile him up more.
“Look.” Luffy guided Law’s hand to his lower abdomen, where Luffy’s cock was buried deep inside. “Feel it?” He soothed the bite mark on Law’s neck with his tongue. “I’m going to pump you so full of cum you’ll have a little bulge here. There’s a spell for me to get you pregnant—do you know it?”
Law moaned as he felt another orgasm building inside him much too quickly just from Luffy’s words, and when he whimpered a “yes” without thinking it through, the surprised and supremely aroused look on Luffy’s face had him moaning again.
Luffy bit Law’s neck again and growled as his knot grew even bigger inside Law, unable to stop his hips from jerking up into Law, thrusting a little even though he was already knotted inside.
“Fuck, Torao, it was a rhetorical question,” gasped Luffy, and he made his way down to lick and suck Law’s nipples as Law went crazy in his arms. “You’re killing me—”
“More, fuck me more,” Law begged, nearly sobbing for release. “Lu-ya, I’m so close—”
Luffy cursed and thrust into Law as much as he could, which was not much, but it was enough for Law, who fell apart at the seams with a cry, body stiffening and arms clinging to Luffy for dear life until a combination of exhaustion and mind-blowing euphoria took him and lulled him under.
When Law woke up to find he was cleaned up and clothed once more, panic rose in his heart. He shot up, only to notice an arm slung over his chest, hugging him.
“What’s the matter?” asked Luffy from where he lay in the grass cuddling Law, irises now back to an earth brown. “Are you feeling alright?”
Law breathed a sigh of relief—Luffy was still there. It hadn't been a dream.
“By the way, does that spell stop by itself?” added Luffy.
The stickiness in Law’s ass reminded him as well, and he muttered the ending chant, flopping back down in the grass as the stickiness went away with a cold rush of magic.
Luffy pulled Law closer. “Mm, you still smell like me. Perfect.”
He nuzzled Law’s neck, trailing lazy kisses down Law’s neck, on Law’s face, on Law’s lips, and Law wanted to cry, because he still couldn't wrap his mind around the fact that this had happened, that it was still happening, that Luffy had wanted to, with him.
And it hadn't been solely because of the rut, right? Luffy had said he’d taken his wolfsbane for today.
“What’re you thinking about?” asked Luffy, an impossibly warm smile on his face at Law of all people, for Law. “I don't know how I feel about you thinking about something other than me right now.”
Law’s throat caught from how much he wanted to say, from how much Luffy didn't know about how big his impact on Law was, about how every word and smile and breath from him lit up Law’s day, Law’s life; Law’s world—
Heart so full he almost couldn't breathe, the words spilled out before he could think them through.
“Yim gef se,” he whispered once again, just like when he’d blurted it out the first time that one day when Luffy had told him that he looked handsome after seeing Law’s insecurity about his tattoos—Law liked them, but morbid tattoos usually signified a dark wix.
Which didn't help his grim reputation.
Law didn't care much about what others thought of him. He just didn't want Luffy to think he was a dark wix, too.
But Luffy had complimented him, told him his tattoos were cool and that he was handsome, and Law couldn't help it, he’d just blurted it out.
Like now, except this time he was choked up and snuggling in Luffy's arms, mind short-circuiting from all that had happened.
Law tried to remember in a panic what he’d said ‘yim gef se’ meant before, cheeks flaming, because why did he always blurt these things out around Luffy—it was a miracle Luffy didn't think he was a complete weirdo.
Had he said it meant something about bread?
No, it was something about a door, wasn't it? Something about the door opening?
He breathed a small sigh of relief that he’d remembered—he needed to at least try to be consistent with his lies, even if they were embarrassing, stupid ones.
It was still less embarrassing than what he’d actually said.
Law opened his mouth to explain, trying very hard not to focus on the fact that he was pressed up against Luffy’s body, which had felt so incredible earlier, embarrassingly so—
No.
He could not think about that right now.
Law cleared his throat. “Sorry, it just slipped out, um…. We had a, um, quiz. It mea—”
“I know what it means,” Luffy told him with an easygoing smile.
Law froze. “Wh-What?” His blood ran cold. “You do?”
“I told you I’ve been studying a language recently, haven't I?”
“Huh? I thought you meant a different language,” said Law. “You’re studying Lekan? But why? It’s only useful for wix—”
“Why else? To know what you’re saying, of course.”
Law blinked, and then his face flushed scarlet, and Luffy grinned, pressing a soft, lingering kiss on Law’s lips before pulling away just a hair’s breadth, just enough for Luffy to see the golden pools in Law’s eyes, always so vibrant and genuine and expressive no matter how much of a poker face Law wore.
Luffy always delighted in the way he could see the cracks in Law’s poker face, in the way that only he could bring flushes of color to Law’s cheeks.
“Say it again,” whispered Luffy, their lips nearly touching.
Law’s cheeks reddened even further and he averted his eyes, long lashes fluttering, but he finally whispered back, “Yim gef se,” once again after a long moment, voice barely audible.
Luffy smiled, and waited until Law, shy and embarrassed, looked at him before responding.
“I love you too, Torao.”
