Techno sat up in his room rubbing the sleep from his eyes the sun had barely begun to rise but there were chores to do and breakfast to make he got up putting on his white poet shirt black pants and black boots he took his hair out from the ponytail he had it in for the night braiding it to the side before throwing on his iconic red cape before leaving. Before going outside he went to check on Tommy looking inside he saw the blond-haired boy fast asleep curled under all the blankets he smiled to himself as he quietly closed the door.
You see Tommy ran from his exile and started to live under his basement, of course, he was caught but after seeing the state Tommy was in his little brother it made his blood boil since then he has been helping him heal and hiding him from the rest of the server safe and sound he always makes jokes about him being retired at 16. He went outside and tended to the garden in the greenhouse and fed the barn animals. Tommy made Techno promise that he can tend to most of the animals like the dogs, his polar bears, the turtles, and most importantly the cows and sheep.
Honestly Techno didn't mind and the smile on the child's face was worth it. He went back into the house to make eggs and toast for breakfast as he was cooking he heard footsteps come down the stairs looking up red eyes met one blue and one grey eye Dream had managed a nasty cut over Tommy's right eye and without the proper care he lost vision in that eye, he noticed that Tommy had one of his capes wrapped around him like a blanket as he walks over to stand beside him resting his head on my arm “morning Theseus” he tells the still half asleep boy “mhh” he says “ready for some breakfast?” he asks the boy Tommy picked himself up and sat at the table “I'm going to take that as a yes” he says placing the food down.
They ate in mostly silence since Tommy was still waking up but after they were done Tommy ran upstairs to get ready for the day coming back down a few minutes later in his red and white long sleeve the winter version he once said his brown pants and black boots he puts on a big blue winter coat and a hat before heading outside to take care of the animals “be back soon tech love ya” he says walking outside “love ya too” he watches as Tommy hesitates to leave before he runs back in giving him a quick hug “bitch” he says before running outside. He watches as Tommy runs to the barn, almost tripping a few times. He is very happy with how Tommy is healing when he first got to him he wouldn't ask for anything the smallest sound or change of tone would set him off even the colour green.
Of course, he still has some healing to do but in time they will get there for now he's okay with their random movie nights or when he gets woken up to Tommy climbing into his bed claiming that he heard him making distress calls so being the big man he is, of course, he had to help. It was nice having his brother back again sure Wilbur was alive and also his brother but Tommy had been threw so much at such a young age it was his turn to be safe and happy Wilbur was happy doing whatever in the main SMP and Phil was by to visit all the time now the three of them playing games or crawling into Phil's nest to watch something it was happy and calm how Tommy should have grown up.
But of course, nothing can stay the same…..
Techno was reading when he heard Tommy's scream from outside he was up and out the door with a weapon as fast as light running over to Tommy who had fallen into the snow pulling himself back away from Dream, Techno saw red as he ran over to Tommy “please stop leave” he heard Tommy tell the man Techno grabbed Tommy pulling him behind his back away from Dream. If looks could kill Dream would be dead 10 times over with how Techno was scowling at him “dream” he says raising up his axe “it would be wise of you to get off my property” he tells the man “I just came to visit Tommy Technoblade he is my old friend after all” Dream says like he doesn't have a care in the world “well I know that's just not true, want to know how I know” he asks the man “what did Tommy tell you” he says Techno gives a little smirk “no its because your homeless you see Tommy needs someone with a house so he can hide under it so no house no friendship” he says without missing beat he hears Tommy give a small snort of a laugh “what..I..I have a house” Dream sputters out “really show me” he says knowing Dream won't.
Dream sighs “whatever Tommy is still coming with me,” he says Techno steps closer to Dream “I don't think so,” Techno says back Dream summons his sword he makes the first move slashing at Techno who blocks it with his axe Techno slices next almost hitting dreams mask they go back and forth but you can tell whos stronger you can tell that Techno has someone he's fighting for someone who he won't let be hurt ever again who will never again know an empty stomach or what it feels like to be almost dying of hypothermia someone who he will never let fight in another war as long as he lives with that thought he hits the right side of Dreams mask breaking some of it off showing one of his green eyes.
Dream moves back “this isn't over blade,” he says starting to run back “watch your back Tommy'' is all he says as he runs off past the fence. Techno turns back to Tommy who’s looking at him with tears in his eyes he runs up crashing into him burying his face in his shirt “you’re okay” he asks into his shirt he pulls him closer “I'm okay Theseus don't worry” he tells him not letting go “I would never let that green Teletubby take you” he says making Tommy laugh “I can’t believe you called him homeless” he says I just shrug “well it's true” I say with a small smile.
“Come on let's get warmed up inside maybe call Phil to come over for a movie night ya,” I ask looking down “ya lets go,” he says with that we turn to walk back into the house but before we can Tommy turns around so fast and before I even know what's happening he’s jumping in front of me. Time stops as I watch an enchanted arrow bed itself in Tommy's chest all the air leaves the world as I catch him before he hits the ground looking up and seeing that smiley face mask turn and walk away I look down at Tommy as the blood starts to fall into the white snow-covered ground.
“no no no no” is all I can say as I pull Tommy onto my lap putting my hand over the wound “you’ll be okay,” I say looking at him “let me go get some potions,” I say about to get up but his voice stops me “no don’t,” he says weakly. I shake my head “you’ll die” I tell him tears coming to my eyes I was supposed to protect him “we both know it won't work he hit a vital point so please just stay with me I don't want to be alone” he quietly says and he’s right potions can only do so much and I don't have any more totems “okay” I say pulling him even closer to me “I'm sorry” is all I can say.
“Promise me something,” he asks “anything I tell him “promise when I'm gone you’ll live on don't disappear have Phil move closer start going on adventures again don't crumble to nothing because of me okay, live for me,” he says reaching up putting his hand on my heart someone his age should not sound so brave so close to death he should be more scared than this and Techno knows it's because he’s already accepted it “I promise,” I tell him Tommy just nods his head“can..ca..can you sing that lullaby yo..you used to when I was young,” he says placing his hand over mine “ye..yeah” I choke out I start singing the lullaby quietly the one I would sing to him when he was sick or couldn't sleep because of a nightmare.
“You're okay You're alright I'll never, ever leave your side I will stay and I will fight With you” I sing to him as his eyes close Aah aah aah Aah aah aah I move him closer his back is now against my chest head leaning on my shoulder “You're okay You're alright I'll stay here through the darkest night All the way, I will fight With you” I finished I feel as he takes his last breath his body slumping into me.
I let my tears fall just holding him close like that would bring him back until I feel the wind suddenly pick up it wraps around me like a hug I look up and see a blue sheep with a man he has a yellow sweater and a red beanie and blue in his hands and on his face, it's Ghostbur and Friend and beside them, a blond-haired boy with bright blue eyes no scars to be seen a smile on his face the three of them looking at him, Tommy gives him a small nod he feels as the wind leaves knowing it was Tommy's last hug the wind blows and he hears a small “goodbye” before it's gone he chokes back a sob watching the three fingers turn around walking into the sunset Tommy turning back one more time to give him his signature smile.
he watches as a lady with a black veil hat and purple eyes with a black dress reaches down picking them up and bringing them close. As they disappear with the lady he somehow knows Tommy will be safe and he will join him someday when the time is right he knows he has to tell the server about what happened go and hunt dream and make a grave for Tommy.
But for now, he’s going to cry for the loss of a friend someone who was gone too soon someone he was meant to protect if he pretends he can almost feel the last remains of Tommys hug holding that feeling close knowing it's the only thing he has left the last real feeling of him being here with him he sits out in the cold “ You're okay You're alright I'll stay here through the darkest night All the way, I will fight With you” he says one last time hanging his head, knowing this is the end.
The last time he will ever hold his younger brother close for a long time....
