Work Text:
Akutagawa Ryunosuke lived a boring yet peaceful life, always watching from the shadows or below the earth to stay with his sister. His routine had always been the same for decades now. Currently, Akutagawa was the shadow of his favorite human who was practicing the shamisen for the celebration for the new year before he would get called off to do chores. The human fascinated him, he still practiced and worshiped him and his sister, leaving offerings to them even if it caused him to get in trouble. His name was Nakajima Atsushi and he had been watching over Atsushi ever since he first caught Ryunosuke’s eye when he was only a few years old.
He had been watching over the town like he had always done ever since the earths creation, content to be away from the other gods to watch his small town. He noticed a small family that was farming in the rice fields clasping their hands together almost in a prayer. He was taken aback whenever he heard the prayer for him. No one had prayed to him in centuries, everyone who had believed in him dying long ago. Going down to a nearby tree to watch better, he smiles as he hears the small child with the family say a prayer similar to his parents, a prayer of thanks for another peaceful and happy day and that if Akutagawa sleeps, the small child hopes that he has good dreams with no bad dreams. The innocence from the child made Ryunosuke smile, his smile getting larger whenever he sees the family leaving an offering for him by the large tree. “Thank you..” he whispers, knowing that they can’t hear him.
It was only a few days later when the boys parents were killed, the leader of the town murdering them in front of the rest of the town to prove a point. “These people were crazy and was making their son believe it too! They’re monsters!” The town cheered in agreement as they throw fruits and other objects at the parents being led out of their home, chained together and being led to large pile of wood. “No!! Please, let my mommy and daddy go!” The small boy cries out, trying to break away from the headmaster who was holding onto his arm tight so he won’t be able to run away. “This will teach you to follow instructions!”
That night, Akutagawa heard another prayer from him but it wasn’t full of anger but a thanks letting his parents be with him even if it wasn’t for very long and wishing him goodnight. Ever since that moment, Ryunosuke had always been with him even if the boy didn’t know, helping him get through the days and letting his crops grow full and plentiful so he still had some to eat after his hard work had been ripped away from him. He had been getting tired of the way the town had been treating each other but mostly his favorite human. Sometimes Gin would watch Atsushi too to show her the one he one day wanted to take back home with them, to care for him and give him a happy life he deserved. Gin would always laugh at how love sick her brother is but nod, agreeing to let Ryunosuke have his soul and that he could be the one to have the boy.
“Atsushi! We have to make offerings tonight!” One of the townsfolk cries out to Atsushi. “I almost forgot! Oh dear, I don’t think I have anything good to offer..” Atsushi yells back, knowing secretly that he did have good things to offer but didn’t want to offer it to the god everyone else is worshiping. Going inside his small cottage, Atsushi looks around for something he thinks would be good enough for the headmaster so he didn’t take something Atsushi wanted to give to his god he had been worshiping. Going over to the small alter, he gets on his knees and clasps his hands together in prayer. “Thank you for another peaceful and beautiful day. Thank you for the plentiful harvest. If you sleep, then I hope you have a good rest with good dreams.” He says with a smile, making sure not to be too loud. He places his offering onto the table, pink and red roses to show appreciation, then brushes off his pants. “I need to clean up in here...it’s starting to get dirty…” He mumbles to himself then pauses when he sees movement next to his window. Slowly turning their head over, all color drains from his face as he sees someone looking in then running away. “Oh no..” he whispers, quickly grabbing something for an offering, a glass bowl filled with fruits, then runs out of his cottage before anyone could tell on him. By the time he runs over to where the celebration was taking place, it was too late.
“Nakajima Atsushi!” The headmaster calls out whenever Atsushi walks over. “Yes, sir..?” Atsushi asks, walking over to the headmaster before getting a slap to the face. The crowd gasps slightly as Atsushi stumbles back slightly, nearly dropping the bowl. “We have reasons to believe you are practicing witchcraft.” “I-I’m not! I’m not, I promise!” Atsushi cries out as people starts to surround him with ropes. ‘It’s just like with my parents all over again’ He thinks to himself as he gets knocked to the ground, the glass bowl shattering with a loud clang as Atsushi falls into the glass then gets tied up with the chains. “Maybe we should sacrifice him!” One of the people in the crowd yells, the rest of the crowd cheering in agreement. “Bring him to the alter.” The headmaster commands while Atsushi struggles to break free. “I’m not a witch, please!” He yells then cries out in pain when he’s thrown down on the floor of the shrine. Atsushi squirms in his bonds to try and get away before screaming in pain when a spear is stuck down in the middle of his foot. Tears roll down his face as blood starts to gush down his foot. “W-Why are you doing this?! Please, let me go!” Atsushi sobs out to the headmaster who glares down at him. “You’re scum just like your parents.” He sneers then stabs a spear through Atsushi’s chest who screams again, his body shaking with sobs. “You will be our sacrifice so we can continue to live.” The headmaster stabs one more spear for good measure in Atsushi’s gut then leads the town out of the shrine while Atsushi sobs in pain. As Atsushi’s begs get weaker and weaker as he bleeds out, he says his last words. “Thank you...for the life I had...please..let me stop suffering…” He whispers a prayer as Gin stands over him, waiting for Atsushi to pass with Ryunosuke standing next to her nervously.
“Is he ok yet?”
“For the last time, Ryunosuke, he’s still alive. He’s fighting to stay alive in case someone tries to save him..” Gin explains with a frown. “Let go of your soul...it’s ok...it’s time for you to move on..” She whispers while Ryunosuke nervously messes with his yukata as he watches the light slowly drain from Atsushi’s eyes as he realizes that no one is coming to save him. He lets out one more sob of pure agony before letting go, his body glowing a bright blue as his soul leaves his body. Gin gently places his soul into a bottle and hands it to Ryunosuke. “He’ll be his own person once we get back home.” She tells him calmly, fixing her own yukata before letting Ryunosuke take them home. It was a large, dark palace with stone carvings decorating the pillars holding some of the arches up. Candles and fireplaces lit up the different rooms. “I shall be in my room.” Ryunosuke says, holding the bottle with the soul of his favorite human extremely carefully as he walks to his room. He places the bottle onto his bed once he walks inside his room and closes the door.
The room was dark, his bed a dark blue color and looking like a canopy with the different clothes covering the bed to keep light out while he sleeps. The fireplace across from his bed crackles slightly while the flames starts to die down. He throws an extra few longs onto the fire then nods when the fire grows more. He opens the bottle with his human’s soul in it once the room is complete and good for his human to stay in. Ryunosuke watches in awe as the soul pours out of the bottle with ease then turns into a sleeping human. His dirty and ragged shirt had tear marks, stains and blood all over. His pants where covered in mud and dirt while smelling of mud. The beautiful white hair that was cut at an odd angle was a dark gray color with a hint of red from the blood. “You’re still so beautiful…” Ryunosuke whispers to the sleeping Atsushi who curls up in on himself onto the bed. He chuckles quietly and covers Atsushi with a blanket then leaves the room to find Atsushi some food and some clothes to wear.
“Where...where am I..?” Atsushi mumbles to himself once he wakes up in an empty yet warm room. He quickly gets off the bed and checks his torso when he remembers what happened. He looks in confusion when he sees his chest smooth and without an injury or scar from when he got stabbed in the chest. “I see you’re awake.” A cool voice says calmly, entering the room.
He was a beautiful and tall man, black hair that was ever so slightly wavy framing his face perfectly. His smooth, pale skin shined under the firelight while his long, black trench coat seemed to be apart of the shadows. Atsushi couldn’t even see where his coat ended from it blending in with the shadows so much. “I apologize if this wasn’t what you expected me to look like, my other outfit got quite uncomfortable. I’m glad you’re up.” He says as he places a small stack of clothes onto the bed, the white cloth around his neck making him seem more formal and regal. “Where am I..? Who are you?” Atsushi whispers in fear, not understanding anything that’s going on. “You don’t recognize me? I suppose I should’ve expected that, we’ve never formally met. My name is Akutagawa Ryunosuke. Ever since I first saw you I’ve protected you. I have brought you here so you can live out your life safely and enjoy it the way you want it.”
Atsushi pauses then falls to his knees in a bow whenever he realizes that this is the god he had worshiped for so long. Akutagawa Ryunosuke, the god of shadows and night...the person who kept him going in life. “I didn’t live a good life if you’re not letting me move on..” He whispers, gasping quietly whenever cold fingers lift Atsushi’s chin. “You lived a very good life and I’m extremely proud of you. I wish to continue protecting you and I wish to make you happy.”
“B-But sir, you’re a god! I’m a human!” Atsushi exclaims, forcing himself to not lean into the touch given to him. He enjoyed touch so much...he just never got positive touch ever since his parents died. He didn’t even remember them anymore, the only reason why he knew he had parents was from the head master threatening to kill Atsushi if he turned out like his parents. It scared him when he was younger but he grew to not care as much as he grew older.
“I see no difference. You’re the most beautiful person I’ve ever met. I want to spend the rest of eternity with you.”
“I don’t know you though! I don’t know you like that! Please, let me move on, I don’t want to continue living! I lived a short life that was filled with pain, please let me move onto the afterlife.” Atsushi says as tears well up and roll down his face, making Ryunosuke panic. “Hey, shhh….don’t cry.” He says, pulling Atsushi into a hug. “B-But I don’t know you! I want to move on, please! Find a new human to protect, I don’t want to live!” Atsushi sobs out into Ryunosuke’s shoulder, his voice muffled. Ryunosuke rubs his hand up and down Atsushi’s back to calm him down. “Lets get you something to eat and something to wear...perhaps a bath too?” Atsushi sighs shakily but nods, all those things sounding amazing to him. Ryunosuke nods and picks up Atsushi, one arm under his legs and another arm against his back. The shadows grab Atsushi’s clothes somehow and follows Ryunosuke while he walks to the large bathing room.
“I shall wash your hair.” He says simply, gently putting Atsushi down once they arrive then changes out of his clothes. “D-Don’t you have c-changing rooms?” Atsushi asks, his face red with embarrassment as he makes eye contact with Ryunosuke to not let his eyes wander. It was a secret to the small village that he was gay, preferring to be with men rather than women. Ryunosuke looks at Atsushi in pure confusion, the confusion written on his face quite clearly. “Why would we have changing rooms? We’re both men, are we not?” Atsushi sighs but nods, undressing himself once Ryunosuke get into the water and getting in himself. It was extremely warm and smelled very nice, the water soothing his sore and tired body. “Better?” Atsushi nods, flinching when he feels Ryunosuke’s hands in his hair. “W-What are you doing..?” Atsushi stutters out, leaning his head back slightly when he feels the cool fingers lift his chin up slightly. “I said I was to wash your hair.” Ryunosuke says simply, starting to wash Atsushi’s hair. He had heard that humans wash each others hair to be closer together so he figured this would be a good way for his human to learn to trust him before dropping the bombshell onto him.
“What’s your favorite color?”
“Excuse me..?” Atsushi asks, not expecting for the god literally washing his hair to ask such..an odd question. “What’s your favorite color? I think mine is dark blue but I also like purple.” Ryunosuke says with a smile making Atsushi think.
“I like the color green..it’s a very nice color.”
“That is a nice color..” Atsushi thinks then starts asking questions to Ryunosuke. He learned that the gods favorite fruit was figs but disliked mandarins, he liked cats and disliked baths. His favorite season was fall and learned how to crochet in his free-time to keep himself from going mad with boredom. He just...seemed like a normal yet wonderful person. After they both had their hair washed and got cleaned up, they dried off then dressed.
“Come, I must show you around and your room you can stay in.” Atsushi nods. He was wearing a white, ruffled shirt, the cuffs of the sleeves slightly frilly but it didn’t bother him at all. It made him feel pretty. His black dress pants fit him perfectly and so did the black boots he wore that made him taller. Ryunosuke gently holds his gloved hand with the excuse of “so you don’t get lost” and starts to show Atsushi around.
His favorite spot in the entire place was outside where the tigers (?) were happily running around. “These are our guards. They can be quite mean, so be careful.” Ryunosuke explains whenever he saw the look of confusion on Atsushi’s face. He carefully walked over to the different tigers and immediately became good friends with the tigers. Their names were Kai and Kazue, two small cubs that had been sacrificed in Gin and Ryunosuke’s name long ago.
Now covered in white fur and two cubs following them intently, Ryunosuke shows Atsushi the way to his room. “There’s not much inside, but I hope it’ll suit your needs.” Ryunosuke mumbles and opens the door. It was a bright room that looked similar to Ryunosuke’s. There was a bed with white sheets and a black canopy in the corner, a desk next to the fireplace with a bookshelf filled with books on the other side of the desk and a large window with black curtains that were tied up to let light into the room. “Thank you..I love it so much.” Ryunosuke nods. “You may stay with me if you wish and explore the castle however you like, just knock on doors before entering.” Atsushi nods, understanding. “What am I to do while I’m here, sir..?”
“You don’t have to call me sir. Call me Ryunosuke. And I’ll let you figure out how you wish to spend your time.” Atsushi nods again.
“Would I be able to cook things?" Atsushi asks, hesitate that Ryunosuke will say no. “If that’s what you wish to do, then you may.” Atsushi smiles happily then nods. “Thank you…I know I wasn’t very excited to be here at first, but I thank you for giving me a moment and explaining.” Ryunosuke nods with a barely seen smile. “I hope you’ll be able to adjust easily here. Good evening, Atsushi. Sleep well, I hope your dreams are good ones.” Ryunosuke says with a smile then leaves the room. Atsushi smiles to himself as he recognizes the parting words Ryunosuke told him as the same words he would say to the god when he would pray at night then pets Kai’s head. “I think I’ll be ok here..” He whispers then walks into the room, closing the door to get more settled into his room.
A few months go by and Atsushi had become good friends with Gin and Ryunosuke, but he couldn’t help but feel something else for Ryunosuke. It wasn’t until he was reading a book that he understood what he was feeling.
He was in love and it was so obvious after what had happened that day.
Ryunosuke had been gone for the past few days, busy with meetings and bringing the night for everyone to be able to enjoy. Every time Ryunosuke would come back, he would be exhausted and only say a few words before disappearing into his room to sleep for the entire day. Gin whispered to him that she hadn’t seen her brother this tired in centuries and was worried. Atsushi nodded and came up with an idea. He and Gin went into the kitchen to make fig tarts for Ryunosuke since he had mentioned in passing that he really liked homemade fig tarts, so Atsushi thought it might make him feel better. Apparently it did since Ryunosuke had spent an hour after eating most of them looking for Atsushi to tell him how much he liked the tarts. Atsushi felt like his heart would explode from how fast it was beating. He could hear the honesty in Ryunosuke’s voice when he went into detail about how much he loved the tarts and praising Atsushi for doing such a good job but also thanking him for making the pastry for him. Atsushi smiled happily and watched Ryunosuke until he disappeared into the castle even after the conversation had been finished. He had then went to his room and had what he can guess to be a gay panic as he happily blabbered to the two tiger cubs about what had just happened. The looks the cubs were giving him made him laugh then opened his book to finish reading it when the realization hit him that he was in love.
He smiled giddy at the thought of Ryunosuke loving him before the anxiety set in. ‘What if he doesn’t love me back though…?’ was the one thought racing through his mind, the happy feeling disappearing. ‘Maybe he does...maybe that’s why he brought me here…’ he thinks to himself as he picks up Kazue and starts to stroke the top of his head, laughing quietly whenever Kai headbutts his back for attention too. He looses himself in thought as he pets the cub’s head. “What should I do you two..?” Kazue chuffs quietly, enjoying having Atsushi’s attention before yelping when Kai accidentally bites his tail. They start to play fight, making Atsushi laugh. “Yeah...maybe I should do that, huh?” He asks playfully then sighs. “He’ll never love me back though...I guess I’ll always love him in secret then..” He mumbles with a frown, unaware of Ryunosuke outside of his door hearing everything.
‘Who’s this “he” he’s in love with?’ He thinks to himself with a frown, starting to feel jealous of whoever seemed to catch Atsushi’s eye while he had been working so hard to get the boy to love him back. ‘Why won’t he love me?! I’ve tried so hard!’ He frowns then storms down the hall. ‘Fine. If Atsushi loves someone else, then he can spend time with them!’ He thinks angrily to himself while Atsushi opens the door to start looking for Ryunosuke. “Maybe I can be vague and ask him for help!” He says hopefully to the cubs, unknown to the fact that Ryunosuke is upset at him.
Atsushi looks for Ryunosuke all day, becoming more and more discouraged and sad when he can’t find Ryunosuke. He asked Gin where Ryunosuke was but she seemed upset at him too. “G-Gin...I don’t understand what I-I’ve done...why won’t Ryunosuke come out?” Gin scowls at Atsushi. “Atsushi, you hurt my brother. Go away.” Atsushi flinches back but goes back into his room, breaking down into tears once he closes the door. “I-I don’t understand, w-what did I do?!” He cries out through his sobs, holding the cubs close. They were the only one who didn’t leave his side. They never left his side through the next nearly two weeks. One would stay with Atsushi while the other would go get food. Atsushi would try to get food but he was afraid of getting yelled at and Gin hating him even more.
Ryunosuke would watch from the shadows to make sure Atsushi was still safe and protected, not doing anything to show that he was there. He wasn’t as angry anymore, just confused and hurt. “Why won’t you love me, Nakajima Atsushi…” he whispers to the sleeping Atsushi, revealing himself only at night. Sometimes Atsushi would wake up but Ryunosuke would always tell him that this was a dream. Atsushi would then give a heartbroken nod then goes back to sleep with the whisper of “I had a feeling...I wish I could just learn to confess…” which would make Ryunosuke more confused. “I just want you to be mine and for me to be yours…” He whispers quietly then steps away from the bed once he kisses Atsushi’s forehead. “Goodnight...make sure you eat...I love you.” He steps back into the shadows to watch Atsushi.
Atsushi wakes up not long after Ryunosuke disappears into the shadow and goes to his room. He looks around excitedly then sighs in disappointment. “I could’ve sworn he was here…” he whispers, brushing away a tear of sadness. Kazue climbs into Atsushi’s lap and chuffs quietly which makes him smile sadly. “Yeah, you’re right...I still have you and Kai...who knows how long it’ll be until Gin makes me move onto the next life.” Kazue whines quietly, putting a large paw on Atsushi’s cheek. “I know...you’ll both just have to take care of Ryunosuke for me then...I need to confess soon...otherwise I’ll just keep messing things up.” Kazue nods, agreeing. Atsushi hugs Kazue then grabs his book and starts to read, petting the top of Kazue’s head as he reads, not leaving the bed.
Back in Ryunosuke’s room, Ryunosuke is pacing in circles, trying to think of a way to ask for Atsushi’s hand in marriage. “I have to do it and soon otherwise he’ll probably continue to the afterlife.” He mumbles, messing with the beautiful obsidian and ruby ring in his hands he wanted to give to Atsushi. “Today. I will do it right now.” He convinces himself then goes to take a bath to make himself clean for Atsushi. By the time he comes back into his room, his nerves is making his hands shake slightly. He grabs his bottle of wine and a small cup then pours some into the cup. He drinks it then works on getting dressed. ‘Look good for Atsushi.’ He reminds himself then puts on his dragon yukata that was red and black, his socks pure black while his sandals were a dark red. He puts on his rings to make himself seem powerful and high in status. ‘People want someone with his status…’ He reminds himself, checking that he looks good in the mirror. He puts on charcoal on his eyelids to make himself look more desirable then checks the mirror again, nodding. His hair was still a bit wavy too. Perfect. Placing the ring inside his pocket, Ryunosuke carefully walks to Atsushi’s door then knocks on Atsushi’s door. Atsushi pauses whenever he sees Ryunosuke, a dark red blush growing on his cheeks.
“Ryunosuke..? What’s going on..?” He asks before yelping quietly as Ryunosuke pulls him into a hug. “I’m sorry that I ignored you for so long. I was upset and didn’t want to lash out at you.” Ryunosuke says, rubbing Atsushi’s back. ‘Now it’s time for the hard part.’ Atsushi nods slightly at Ryunosuke’s words as he rests his head on Ryunosuke’s shoulder. “At least you’re feeling better…” Ryunosuke nods. “Lets go to the garden for a little, shall we?” Atsushi smiles and nods. “Let me change, I’m sure I look horrible..” Ryunosuke chuckles and lets go of Atsushi who goes into his room and changes into a button down, corset and dress pants, slipping on his gloves once he finishes changing. “Let’s go.” He says with a smile once he returns to Ryunosuke. They walk outside to the garden, Atsushi looking around intently whenever he sees the flowers that bloomed in the full moon but Ryunosuke couldn’t take his eyes away from Atsushi. He was gorgeous under the moonlight, his silver nearly white hair shining brightly under the light of the moon while his eyes sparkles with joy and wonder.
Stepping closer to Atsushi he kneels down in front of Atsushi, catching Atsushi off guard. “Ryunosuke, are you ok? Do you want to sit?” He asks, taken aback even more when Ryunosuke nods, a dark red blush lighting up his cheeks. “Nakajima Atsushi...I wish to tell you something.” Atsushi nods, listening to whatever Ryunosuke is about to say intently. “I have been watching you for the longest time, protecting you while you explore life. Although your life has ended, I wish to continue to protect you.” Atsushi nods again, not understanding before gasping whenever Ryunosuke pulls out the ring from his pocket. “Nakajima Atsushi, ever since you have come, I’ve been the happiest I could ever be. I want to make you happy just like how you make me happy. I ask for your hand in marriage so we can spend the rest of eternity together. Nakajima Atsushi, will you accept my proposal and become my spouse?” Ryunosuke panics whenever he sees tears run down Atsushi’s face. “I do..I do! I accept, goodness, yes, I accept! I will marry you!” He cries out with a smile, the tears of happiness streaming down his face. Ryunosuke slips the ring onto Atsushi’s finger then pulls him into a hug, the couple hugging the other as close as they can before Atsushi slips on the other ring onto Ryunosuke’s finger. It was a sliver ring with a blue gem in the middle and it was absolutely beautiful. Ryunosuke gently cups Atsushi’s face then pulls them into a gentle yet romantic kiss, Atsushi laughing quietly once they break the kiss which makes Ryunosuke fluster more.
Two days later, Ryunosuke and Atsushi agree to meet in the garden for them to get wed, not planning on having a large ceremony but just having the two of them. Ryunosuke was the first to meet at the planned spot, smiling to himself whenever he sees the few things Atsushi set up hours earlier. A blanket spread down on the forest green grass with a basket on top of it. A bottle of wine could be seen poking out of the basket, the glasses next to the basket. Ryunosuke was wearing traditional wedding kimono in all black, his wedding ring shining against the moonlight as he sits down to wait for his soon-to-be husband to come join him. Only three minutes later exactly did Atsushi arrive. He too was wearing a traditional wedding kimono but in the color white. “Hello love.” He whispers as he sits down, his ring also shining in the moon light.
“You look absolutely beautiful, Atsushi..” Ryunosuke whispers to Atsushi, who flusters quite quickly which pleases Ryunosuke quite a lot. Atsushi whispers a quiet “thank you” once the blush had gone down some then snuggles closer to Ryunosuke. “Shall we start?” Atsushi nods, slipping off his ring and trading with Ryunosuke. They didn’t see the point in getting another ring, happy to wear the beautiful rings. As Ryunosuke says his vows, he lifts a shaking hand and kisses the knuckles, earning a quiet gasp from Atsushi, before continuing on. “Nakajima Atsushi, do you take me to be your husband from now until forever?” Atsushi takes a deep breath so he doesn’t trip up his words. “I do.” He says with a smile then starts to say his vows. “Akutagawa Ryunosuke, do you take me to be your husband from now until forever?” Atsushi asks with a smile, both he and Ryunosuke extremely red in the face with blush. “I do.” Ryunosuke whispers with a smile. “You may kiss the groom.” Atsushi says before getting pulled into a kiss from Ryunosuke, wrapping his arms around Ryunosuke’s neck as he melts into the kiss. He gasps quietly whenever he sees Ryunosuke’s hair. The beautiful inky black hair suddenly had white tips on the end, the white appearing like someone took a watercolor paintbrush and let some drops fall onto his hair, the white swirling around in the black until it glows slightly. A small gust of wind made their hair blow slightly in the wind, the white tips blowing with it, now one with Ryunosuke. Whenever he looks up at the man in question, he sees an awestruck smile on his face, paying complete attention to the streak in Atsushi's silver hair that just turned a dark inky black.
“We have the mark..” He whispers happily then hugs Atsushi close. “’The mark’? What mark?” Ryunosuke chuckles quietly then lifts Atsushi’s chin. “Whenever a god marries someone, the god and the spouse gets a mark that represents the persons significant other. Sometimes it’s a mark to the skin, one eye will change colors or sometimes they combine and become a whole new person. In our case, we have a mark in our hair that’s the same color as our natural hair color to show that we are married.” Ryunosuke explains happily, chuckling whenever he sees the small smile on Atsushi’s face. “So...you’re really my husband?” He asks hopefully, making Ryunosuke laugh. “I am your husband and you are mine.” Atsushi smiles happily and hugs Ryunosuke close. “I love you so much...I want to spend the rest of time with you.”
“Now we will, my love...now we will..” Ryunosuke says with a smile, holding Atsushi close to his chest.
They part from the other just to collect the few things and to go inside, holding each other’s hands along the way. Their love would last for centuries as they live out the life they wanted together.
They were as happy as could be as they spend the rest of time with each other.
Just like what they had always wanted.
