Work Text:
Beomgyu walked up to the side rooftop and looked down, it was pretty far down. But that was what he wanted after all. A nice tall building with concrete at the bottom.
There was no way he’d still be alive after this.
He carefully took off his shoes and placed them neatly on the ground. Then he took off his sweatshirt and placed it beside his shoes, putting his phone next to them as well.
He didn't feel the cold, despite it being a winter night. His physical body was finally catching up with his mind.
He breathed out and climbed up on the edge, so he was standing out facing the city, and went over his mental checklist.
He’d given away as much of his belongings as he could, mostly to his members, but some to charities as well, and he’d made sure to send all his money home to his family. Hopefully they would feel able to use it.
He’d said thank you to all his instructors and managers, and sent his old school friends from Daegu messages of thanks and farewell. With them he’d sent one last goodbye to moa, wishing for them to be happy.
He’d also tidied his room so it wouldn't be a problem for anyone who might need to go through it.
And finally he’d written each of his members a letter. He wrote about his thanks for being able to be with them and to not linger on his death and that he was sorry, but he hoped they could understand. He’d also told them he loved them. He couldn't leave without them knowing that.
Confirming with himself that everything had been completed he let out another breath, watching it evaporate into the air, as the night carried it away.
He looked down again and imagined himself jumping, his body falling through nothing as it plummeted to the ground; slack as he finally found his peace.
He took a step forward, his feet grazing the edge of death. Sickeningly close but kind of sweet.
He felt the bitter wind wash over him and prepared himself to fall. His body might still hold some instinctual resistance, but his mind was set. There was no going back.
He let out one more breath, whispering “I love you” just for his members, before stepping off the rooftop.
And as he took his last step, he took his last breath, letting his body free fall into the night, and welcoming the ground with open arms.
