Chapter 1: Aftermath

Chapter Text

A/N: Alright, people, lets do this one last time.

First off, this story was written with an older audience in mind, so it WILL contain violence, strong language, and sexual content. For those adult readers who aren't into that, I gotchu. Each smutty chapter will be clearly labeled.

Example: Chapter: title (18+)

That way you can skip them whenever you want.

Thats right, guys, the Disney effect stops HERE! That means people in relationships are sexually attracted to one another, and all of our heroes can say fuck if they want. Idc. Its more realistic, and its happening.

Also, don't mind the spelling errors. I like to think I do pretty good at not making them, but it DOES happen. I CAN spell, I'm just writing all this on my cellphone and my thumbs are too big for the buttons. Lol.

For the hardcore fans of DC and Marvel comics, listen up... Imma keep it a stack with y'all, I haven't read very many comics in my day. Mostly due to being poor and having no access. Thats not to say I haven't read ANY, just that there's a lot about these universes that I probably do not know, and I am in NO WAY a walking encyclopedia about them. So any information I have about these characters was gained via RESEARCH and little else. While I always do my ABSOLUTE best to do justice to the characters I write about, just think of this story as a sort of... elsewords story. A lot of it will probably be familiar to you, but don't be surprised if a few things are different. I do my best.

But thats also kinda why i chose to write the story about MCU Spider-Man and the Teen Titans from the 2003 original animated series. These are characters that I am personally familiar with, and provide a good basis to morph them into something unique.

And also, while our Peter Parker IS the same one from the MCU, more or less, that will merely serve as nothing more than his backstory. As the story progresses his character will develop a lot closer to Spider-Man, and not "Iron-boy jr" as people call him.

Anyway, buckle up, lets get on with the story!

Peter Parker opened his eyes with a jolt. His Spider Senses kicking him awake like a rude roommate. He had been asleep, though he didn't know how long. He sat up from his spot on the cold concrete and looked around to see that he was still at the Statue of Liberty, which was his last memory before blacking out. His heart pounded and he could feel sweat forming underneath his mask and the rest of his uniform.

Something was wrong...

His spider senses screamed at him from every direction in a most overwhelming way. It was if everything around him was being perceived as a danger. Every atom of every surface. He jumped to his feet and surveyed his surroundings. Once he came to his senses he was finally able to take it all in.

Everything was gone, from the scaffolding built around the statue itself to the wrecked Captan America shield lying in the water. While, he should have been at the top, he was instead standing in he pristine green grass around the base of the statue. His mind was still so foggy, he couldn't recall anything.

Nothing... except falling.

He was in disbelief. He fell; Spider-Man didn't fall. Why hadn't his tingle thing kicked in like always. This was child's play.

Something else was wrong...

It was as though the entire battle never happened. All of the wreckage was gone and looked brand new. Just a regular Statue of Liberty. Ned, MJ, and Doctor Strange couldn't be seen anywhere. Although he could distinctly remember speaking with them only seconds ago.

"What the hell?" He groaned to himself.

Maybe the Avengers cleaned it all up? And laid fresh grass down? The only person he knew who could pull something like that off was Tony Stark. Maybe even that tree guy he met while battling Thanos. However, such things seemed far outside the realm of possibility.

He considered that maybe it was a dream, but that didn't add up either. His memories failed to match up with logic, which made Peter's stomach drop.

How long had he been asleep?

He looked to his left and saw a Ferry loading people on board, about to take them to the mainland. Although his head was still pounding, he still managed to swing himself across the entire island to land right on the wall of the side of the bow of the ship. He just stuck to the wall, trying not to attract any attention. He slipped off his mask, checking to make sure the boat had taken off already. Strange's spell did seem to work as people on the island seemed confused and a little put off by his presence, but not one of them called him by his real name or called for his arrest. Maybe strange cast some sort of repair spell he didn't know about?

Out of all the possibilities going through his head as the ferry made its way across the water, this seemed like the most logical answer, funny enough.
Peter breathed a sigh of relief, however the tingle was still there, in the background, screaming something at him. He closed his eyes and let out a deep breath and began to listen closer.

No way home.
No way home.
No way home.
No way home.
No way home.

Over and over again it told him. He felt unsafe, alone. Normally his Spider Sense was much more intuitive than this, but at this moment it could only tell him this little bit of information, while sending a skull splitting headache as well.

As the Ferry neared the shore, Peter looked up and quickly put his mask back on. He'd hate for Strange's spell to go to waste. He managed to swing himself to shore, causing a crowd of people to jump back in fear.

"No-no-no its okay!" Peter held his hand out reassuringly, though the people stood back farther. "It's okay! I'm just passing through!"

One of the men looked to his friend with a smirk and remarked, "You'll see anything in New York, I swear!"

Being in a crowd of people as Spiderman made Peter nervous these days, probably PTSD from all the news reporters he finally managed to get rid of. Peter decided to just stick to the roof as he normally did, however painful swinging was to his head at the moment, it couldn't have been worse than scaring civilians. It was so strange to Peter that he had this effect on people still. The controversy was over, he was finally just a friendly neighborhood Spiderman again. He pushed these feelings to to side, he knew he shouldn't let these things get to him. So long as he could do his job and keep people safe, it was fine with him. Although, this did bring out other feelings he had been thinking about as well.

Namely regarding Ned and MJ...

He had promised to find them and make them remember him. He wanted to with everything he had, but the eyes of the civilians struck a nerve in Peter. People didn't know he was Spiderman anymore, but he still struck fear into the people he was saving. This was worse than before, almost as if everybody thought Peter was going to attack them.

Why would they think that?

Perhaps it was because, even with his identity hidden, Spider-Man was the cause of lots of destruction. They didn't forget that. So with a deep and painful breath, Peter made the decision right then and there to let his friends go. Whatever Ned and MJ were doing right now, Peter knew that without him they would be safe.

Peter would continue his life as Spider-Man, but this time all alone. He had to...

Authors note: this is an idea I had on the fly one day. Somehow the mcu Spiderman flowed best with the story is was trying to tell. I've really enjoyed writing it so far and I would appreciate any and all comments and feedback given. Thank you!
