Sonic and Shadow were running through the Green Hill Zone, racing each other to the finish line. As they approached the end, they were neck and neck. But as they crossed the finish line, Shadow pulled ahead and won the race.
"Hey! That's not fair!" Sonic exclaimed. "You cheated!"
"I didn't cheat," Shadow said. "I just ran faster than you."
"No way! I'm the fastest thing alive! There's no way you could have beaten me!"
"I guess you're just not as fast as you think."
Sonic was about to argue, but then he realized that Shadow was right. He may be fast, but Shadow was faster.
"Well, I guess you win this race," Sonic said. "But I'll beat you next time!"
"We'll see about that," Shadow said with a smirk.
Sonic smiled and laughed as he nuzzled into his lover's shoulder.
