Being that Ranboo is seventeen, he is almost out of the foster care system. He's been in and out of homes for basically his whole life. He doesn't talk much. He's an enderman-human hybrid. And he often makes "weird enderman noises." Those things often dissuaded families from taking him home. What happens when a Ranboo hears about the head officer calling an old friend?This is not set in the DreamSMP, it is mostly unrelated.
I've seen a couple of fanfics like this and now I'm impulse writing! I hope you enjoy it!

Lars likes Driver's gloves.
He likes the way they wrap themselves snugly around each and every one of Driver's fingers, likes the way they caress the palms and backs of his hands, hug the lithe lines of his wrists. He likes the way Driver's hands flex within them; the soft creaking of the worn leather is as soothing to Lars's ears as a masterfully crafted, cloying lullaby. Lars likes to watch him pull them on, the way his fingers wiggle and settle into their rightful place, ready to do a job.
Their job—other than to hold Driver's hands while he drives—is to touch.

I can’t go home yet; I don’t want to face Adrian’s gentle comfort; I don’t deserve it. I can’t do anything useful anymore. I did my job and saved the planet, and I guess that’s it. No more engineering for Rocky. Maybe I’ll pick up something else, a new career to fill my time if no one will utilize my painstakingly crafted talents in the engineering world anymore. No, I can’t even pretend. I love engineering, I love making things, working on things, making things better. I need a project to fill up my thoughts until nothing else fits. Why won’t they give me one?
Grace would give me one. He loves my inventions, praises me more than I can stand to hear. He wants my work still, right? I’m already halfway to the dome before I even realize it. It’s late for Grace, he might not even be awake, but I need to meet him. I need him.
or Grace settles into Erid life pretty easily. Rocky struggles to do the same.

Summary
So—the million-dollar idea—a reverse-translator that can take Grace’s English and spit it out in an Eridian polyphony, that way Grace and Rocky can communicate more effectively. Plus, it has the added benefit of making Grace able to participate in Rocky’s sing-share like a real Eridian partner. And Grace will finally get some more Eridian through his skull, even though he’s never been much of a linguist. There are people back on Earth who would kill for the opportunity to study Rocky’s language, and the way his body produces it, and the culture associated with his words. Well, songs.
Grace, though? He just wants to participate, reciprocate, be equal as a sing-share partner.

Rocky has officially moved into Hail Mary with Grace, but he's still dealing with the aftereffects of living nearly fifty human years by himself. By chance, he finds himself singing with Grace, and it's clear Grace doesn't fully understand what that means for Eridians.
