Chapter Text
"What in the world... A cave?" Serena said sheepishly. Their journey to save the faces of Greenhorne was nearly at its end, and there was one more face left to save. The face of the cheery granny.
"Yeah, this looks like the only place we haven't explored yet..." Daniel observed, "So, what's the plan?"
"Let's split up!" Yosh would say, "That way we can explore more."
"We should probably stick together, who knows what's in there?" Danny chimed in, "And besides, the cave doesn't look that deep. I'm sure it'll be fine."
"Right... Let's go then, team!" Serena said, "Let's find that face!"
"Yeah!" The team would say, as they all shuffled into the cave.
Said cave would be dark. There was a river flowing through it and in the middle of the river was a floor of stone, seemingly forming a pathway to the end of the cave. The cave would glow with blue light. There were pillar-like rock formations that all had water flowing down from them. Water would be dripping from the ceiling. Serena looked around, scoping out the cave for possible enemies. Danny was doing the same. Daniel forged ahead, the blue light reflecting on his raised sword. Yoshubi would follow behind, brandishing their staff. Once Serena was sure the coast was clear, for now, she'd signal to her teammates to move ahead, only to realize Daniel and Yosh had already disappeared.
"Oh c'mon, guys! You can't just charge in without knowing what... Can they still hear me?" She turned to Danny, who shrugged. She'd facepalm, and go in the direction where they had run off.
As they got deeper into the cave, the amount of water increased. The path had become narrower, and puddles of water had become more frequent. The light revealed wickedly sharp stalactites up above. Serena shuddered, and whispered to Danny "Watch out, if one of those things falls, we're toast." Danny would nod. Eventually, they would catch up to Daniel and Yosh. They had made it close to the center of the cave.
"Have you ever heard of waiting?!" Serena would grumble.
"You were taking too long." Daniel scoffed. Serena glared at him but brushed it off.
"Anyways, did you guys find anything?" Serena inquired as the party kept walking.
"Not really, this cave seems pretty empty." Yoshubi said, "It's honestly kind of suspicious."
"Yeah, I expected-" Danny would say, before being rudely cut off by a shriek. Directly behind him was a Banshee. "M-M-MONSTERS!"
Serena immediately took out her weapon and got into a battle stance. "There they are." She'd say. The Banshee would shriek again, and after a few seconds, another Banshee and a Cumulus appeared, ready to fight.

Battle time!
Serena immediately waved her wand to cast fire. The spell hit the first Banshee, and it shrieked in pain. It retaliated and attempted to jab Daniel with its hair. Daniel dodged it and brandished his sword. He landed a quick jab at the monster. Behind them, Danny and Yoshubi would be busy fighting off the other two fiends. Danny threw his knife, slashing both of them in one hit. Yoshubi whacked the cloud on the head with their staff. The cloud healed itself, much to the party's annoyance.
The Banshee, however, would prepare to wail. It sobbed, immediately getting the attention of the adventurers. They, however, would resist its spell. Serena and Daniel were pushed back to where the rest of the team is, and the enemies started closing in on them. Serena jumped up and cast lightning, striking all three of the foes. Daniel does jump slash to the first Banshee, killing it. Danny prepared to attack, but Serena cuts in; "Let me help!" He nodded, and they executed a double attack on the other banshee, critically damaging it.
Yoshubi smacked the cloud again. The cloud flew in for an attack, hitting Yoshubi directly in the face. Ouch, that's gotta hurt... The Banshee jabbed at Serena in desperation and lands a hit. Serena yelped and rubbed her face, but she rammed her wand into one of its hollow eye sockets. It shrieked before dying. The party then turned its attention to the cloud. It made a sound reminiscent of a gulp, and it backed away a little, before getting sniped by Danny's knife. The battle ends, much to the travelers' relief.
"Alright, now that's over with..." Serena said, "Let's keep on going. Be wary, more of those... things might come and find us." The party nodded and followed her lead. Surely enough, not long after they were ambushed by a group of Banshees yet again.

Battle Two!
"Be careful, don't let those things put you under their spell!" Serena yelled, "Lightning!"
The banshees shrieked as the lightning struck. The one closest to Serena attacked her, hitting her directly. Yoshubi immediately cast Cure, revitalizing her. Daniel and Danny went for a double attack on the middle banshee, striking it down to half-health. It shrieked in anger and hit Daniel, who dodged again. The other one went for Danny, who wasn't so lucky. He groaned in pain, and then set down a trap in front of him. "This'll keep me safe."
Serena cast lightning once again. Daniel followed suit with Jump Slash again, effectively killing the middle banshee. The other two stared at him in shock before attacking.
He jumped away from the first attack... right into the second. Yoshubi slams their staff into the left banshee. The party circles them, ready to deliver the final blows.
Serena cast fire on the Banshee closest to her, and Danny would slash at it with his dagger. Yoshubi and Daniel did a double attack on the other Banshee, and they'd kill both of them. Serena sighs in relief, "Whew..." The party pauses to take a breather before continuing into the cave.
Serena abruptly stops. A sign! It reads UP (Treasure) and STRAIGHT AHEAD. "Where do we want to go?" She'd say, moving aside so that they can all see what the sign reads.
"I say we go for the treasure first, then circle back here and go straight ahead," Danny says.
"Exactly, who could resist treasure?" Yoshubi says.
"They're right, we should go for the treasure." Daniel chimed in.
"Alright then, it's unanimous. Let's go..." She points towards the direction the sign is pointing to, "...this way!"
The team nods, and they all head to the treasure.
Not long after, monsters attack again! This time, a group of cumulus and banshees ambush the four.
"RAHHH! HOW MANY OF THESE ARE WE GOING TO HAVE TO FIGHT?!" Serena whined, "No matter... LET'S DO THIS!"
