" I dare you to kiss the most attractive person in the room ."
"Jesus H Christ." Eddie mutters, silently leaving the doorway he's stood in to go into the kitchen. No way in hell does he want to watch you kiss Steve 'The Hair' Harrington.
It's a Friday night. You'd all piled into Eddie's van after school and hightailed it to Steve's, prepared for a night of movies, games and perhaps breaking into his absent parents liquor cabinet.
It hadn't taken long for the games to begin. Starting with monopoly, which was thrown into chaos by you, the banker, sneaking extra cash to Eddie whenever you got the chance.
You weren't even sneaky about it. Giggling as you slyly slid your hand over to him, the brightly coloured paper clear as day beneath your small palm.
Once it was deemed that they could no longer trust you with board games, truth or dare began.
And that is how Eddie found himself in this current predicament.
He scrubbed his hand over his face, trying to ignore the growing frustration and hurt that swelled within him at the thought of you choosing to kiss anyone that wasn't him.
Eddie knows he can't blame anyone but himself.
You're his best friend.
And as such he'd squashed those feelings down. Feelings that had been growing for months, years even.
He's so lost in his thoughts, that he doesn't hear the creaking of the kitchen door being pushed open.
"Eds?" Your voice is quiet as you poke your head around the door. The sight that greets you leaves your mouth dry. The older boy has his head thrown back, exposing his pale throat to your lingering eyes.
You shake your head of those thoughts as Eddie notices you.
" Oh , h-hey." His chocolate eyes snap down to meet yours.
The metalhead tries to ignore the pang of want that creeps into his body as he watches you walk towards him, your skirt dancing along the top of your thick thighs.
He can't help but let his eyes wander over your body, feeling helpless to his need for you as he takes in the way the material clings greedily to your curves.
"Hey yourself." You smile up at him, unaware of the turmoil that's bubbling within him. "What are you doing all alone in here?"
His heart beats faster as you tilt your head questioningly with that little smile on your lips. Shit , you're too precious for your own good. The distance between you two is damn near killing him.
"You know me, just love a good kitchen…" Eddie finishes lamely, his nose scrunching with distaste over his own response. You were so deeply embedded in his brain that he could barely think straight.
" Right , you're such a weirdo Eddie." You laugh, rolling your eyes at him. "I'll let you keep your secrets . I've got a dare to complete anyway."
You stand a little taller, trying to muster up the courage to do what you came here for. The whole reason you had been searching for Eddie.
"Yeah, kiss the most attractive person ," His voice is biting as he speaks, a bitterness seeping into his words that you don't understand. "So what are you doing in here with me then?"
"Oh, well, I mean-" You cut yourself off, taking another step towards him anxiously.
You rub your clammy hand on the front of your skirt, catching the way Eddie's eyes fall to your bare thighs as the material moves with your hands.
Biting your lip and feeling warmth settle under your cheeks, you wordlessly lean in to press a gentle kiss on Eddie's cheek, just slightly catching the corner of his soft lips.
He says your name so quietly as you pull back, awestruck and unable to tear his wide eyes away from yours.
His reaction boosts your confidence momentarily.
" My turn ." You offer him a small teasing smile. "Truth or dare, Eddie?"
"What?" His brain has barely come back online after feeling your lips against his skin. His chest still hot where you pressed your hands, steadying yourself as you leant up towards him to give him what he'd wanted for so long now.
" Truth or dare . You know the rules." Your heart flutters as Eddie keeps his eyes on you, unwilling to look away.
"Dare." Nerves tickle their way up his spine.
But the way you bite your lip again, looking up at him through your lashes with those big eyes, as you tug on the sleeve of your sweater. That's enough to turn his nerves into hope.
"I dare you to kiss me." You whisper, letting your hand find his and brushing your fingers along the back.
"You want me to kiss you?" He knows he shouldn't sound so disbelieving after what just happened, but he just can't seem to get his head around it.
"I've wanted you to kiss me for so long Eddie, that it's starting to get a bit pathetic that I've not just told you already." You let a small laugh escape, your head lolling forwards to lean against his shoulder, hiding yourself from his inevitable answer to your dare.
" Shit ."
His fingers are on your chin instantly, lifting your face up to look at him. He searches your eyes for a moment, looking for any sign that you don't want this. But all he sees is hope and anticipation.
He brushes a loose strand of your hair back, leaning in to press his lips against the sensitive skin just below your ear.
You suck in a breath as he leaves a trail of soft kisses along your jaw, working his way towards what he's been desperate to feel for so long that it's a wonder he didn't pounce when given the chance.
You beat him to it. The second his lips are within a kissable distance, you can't hold yourself back. You slot your lips together, soft and firm as they in unison. Your hands are digging into the skin of his waist, dipped under his tee.
By the time you separate, you're both breathless and smiling like the lovesick idiots you are.
"We've got a lot of time to make up for, sweetheart."
