Chapter 1: set the phasers to rot

Chapter Text

This chapter isn't don't yet! But Im putting it here for safekeeping for now

Reigen stared at Saiki. Saiki stared back.
"So, why do you wear those goofy looking glasses, anyway?"
Saiki glared at the conman.
'I would take them off to show you, but then you'd end up petrified as a statue for 24 hours, so for Mob's sake, I'll spare you this time.'
Reigen's expression didn't visibly change, but a bead of sweat did roll down his face. "Ah. So, that's why you wear the glasses?"
Saiki nodded.
"But that doesn't explain why THOSE glasses. I mean, they look tacky as hell."
Saiki raised an eyebrow at what was, most definitely, the tackiest man in the tackiest office he had ever seen in his life, and replied, 'Have you looked in the mirror?'
Reigen frowned. "Rude. You should really respect your elders."
Saiki didn't deign that with a mental response, only flipping him off in turn. Reigen looked affronted, shaking his head and scoffing, "Kids these days, even Ritsu is less of a menace than you."
Reigen paused to consider that for a moment, before correcting himself, "Hanazawa is less feral than you. Ritsu is feral. When he was younger, when Mob wasn't around, he would try and bite me. I swear he's got a lockjaw, it was like trying to wrench a Rottweiler off my arm." He mumbled, "Still got a scar to prove it, too.."
Saiki didn't even know how to respond to that.
Reigen cleared his throat, before waving his hand as if trying to physically clear the now very awkward air, "Anyway, you didn't answer my question. Why those, of all glasses? For someone who hates attention, you have a rather," Reigen waved his hand in a loose circle, vaguely gesturing at his corduroy pants, green combat boots, and pink and blue cardigan, "Eccentric, taste in fashion."
Saiki reflexively said, 'At least I dress better than you,' before pausing as he considered whether to actually answer.
'..I've had them since I was a kid. Any glasses would counter the petrification, but I guess I've gotten to used to the green tint.'
