Character Concepts for The Heir to the House of Prince

Notes:

It's been almost ten years since I seriously sat down to do character concept work. A lot of (the better kind of) HP fic works on the premise that (at least) Harry and Hermione are some flavor of non-white, but it's often a background detail. A_LoveUnlaced and elph13 have made heritage and ethnicity a seamless and vital part of the story, and I have been having so much fun seeing their takes on the characters in my head that I finally had to sit down and make them real.

I swear I originally had a SHORT list of characters I was going to illustrate but what with having the ability to edit graphics on my PHONE now, that list keeps growing when my back is turned. So I'm not sure exactly how big this will wind up being.

Chapter 1: The Goblins

First up, the goblins!

Mostly because they were the first group of characters that started to take shape in my head as fundamentally different from the way they are described in the books and movies. My initial concept was "what if I mixed a dwarf with a lizard*, added a smidge of traditional "goblin-ness" and emphasized their martial pride and their financial role in wixen society. (Has anyone considered the level of profit they could be making on the arbitrage between the muggle and wixen currencies? Just me?)

*I have no idea if anyone is actually going to be on-board with the lizard concept, but I think I was thinking of the Silurians from Dr. Who somewhere in the back of my mind.
