Gepard's Journey To The Stars

Summary:

Stellarons. The Cancers Of All Worlds.
The one that is causing the Eternal Freeze of Jarilo-VI.
But... what if The Stellaron Hunters decided to do something to the Stellaron of Jarilo-VI?
What if...they decided to seal it in a baby's body to hide it away?
Well, that's what they did.

or

A 'What If' fanfic where Kafka and Blade were assigned to seal the Stellaron of Jarilo-VI into a baby Gepard Landau.
(I'm not good with summaries)

Notes:

My first work in AO3 for the Honkai Star Rail community!
Honestly, this is my first time writing in a while, it's been a couple of years so I'm kinda rusty.
This work is inspired by Weathering With You (Somehow)

This would be a really long fanfic but I would be focusing on the events of Jarilo-VI for now ;)
Spoilers For The Main Story Quest For Jarilo-VI in later chapters!
Trigger Warnings would also be indicated here for any future chapters that need it.

Updates would not be consistent since I would only be working on this during my free time.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

The planet that she is going to this time, is a rather dull one compared to the ones that she had visited. A planet that has been covered in waves of frost and ice, caused by their own leader’s actions. How pitiful. Nevertheless, she has to keep the mission in mind.

Landing onto the sub-zero planet wasn’t much of a problem. Elio had already informed them beforehand of any things that they had to take note of. Despite the planet’s conditions, there were still traces of the Antimatter Legion around the area where they had landed. No matter. Elio did not say anything about the Antimatter Legion, so she could do whatever she wanted with them.

She is the leader of this operation, after all.

Taking out two identical guns that she had always prepared for these kinds of trips, she shoots at the leftovers of the legion. They fell without much effort, and she continued to shoot all around the area as more of them appeared within her range of sight. Just then, one of the members of the Antimatter Legion leapt towards her, making use of what seemed to be her blind spot to their advantage. She continued shooting the others casually without much worry, enjoying the sounds that the legion makes as she fires at them.

After all, she had him with her for this mission.

As the member draws near, a man emerges right at the member. Without much difficulty, his blade makes contact with the creature, slicing part of its body. The member immediately recoils as he continues stabbing the monster multiple times without hesitation before it falls on the pure white snow. The lady smiles as she takes a glance at his work in the midst of shooting with her guns.

Once they have all been obliterated from her sight, she continues her journey, with soft steps as the snow crunches under her feet. Behind her, the man follows her, an umbrella held out to cover himself and the lady. It didn’t take too long for them to reach the destination that they have been looking for. The soft glows emitting from its prison were all it took for them to find its location.

There it is.

The Stellaron.

Her hands handled the mysterious object with ease, holding it up from the bottom. She examined the object closely, smiling as she moved swiftly out of the site along with her companion. Half of the mission has already been completed, without many problems as Elio had mentioned beforehand.

“So, this is the so-called ‘seed of destruction’…”

Her hand slowly clasped onto the object, as her eyes sparkled in curiosity. Beside her, the man merely stared at her actions as they strolled forward. Her hands are nearly freezing holding the Stellaron and she could felt the cold breeze getting stronger the longer she held it. This must be why Elio had told them to partially seal the Stellaron.

It shouldn’t take too long for them to reach the city at this rate. She lightly grazed her fingers onto the life form, focused on how it would react to her behaviour. Nothing happens, as she had expected. With nimble fingers, she begins the ritual to partially seal the Stellaron. As she continued, she could feel the breeze slowly fading away from the Stellaron.

"Perfect."

It didn't take long for it to be completed. She admired her work a moment, before redirecting her gaze towards the man.

“How fascinating that such a small life form could cause disasters to an entire civilisation, isn’t it, Bladie?” Her lips curled into a smile as he turned to face her.

“We have to focus on the mission at hand, Kafka.”

“The city is still a few minutes from here. Besides, it doesn’t hurt to make small conversations here and there.”

“...” At that point, Kafka knew that she had already won the argument. Blade let out a breath, before answering.

“It definitely is interesting. From your reaction, I can assume that this is your first time seeing one?”

“Not exactly, but it is my first time holding one of them.” Her fingers continued to brush against the Stellaron like how a person would brush the fur of a pet. "Is this your first time seeing it?"

"...No."

A few more topics were discussed between the two, with Blade giving brief responses before they came into a halt. They have reached the city.

She swiftly tugged the Stellaron into the coat that she was wearing, hiding its glow from sight.

Not far ahead, they could see two guards patrolling around the entrance, holding an axe at the side. It would be more entertaining for them to fight the guards, but not this time. Elio had specifically mentioned that they should keep a low presence when they reach the city, which is why Kafka had prepared to not stand out as much by changing her outfit into a more casual look. She could still remember Blade’s more than unnecessary comments when she had demanded for him to change his outfit to something less recognisable. She had ended up listening to a whole rant of how the clothes that she had picked for him were rather unflattering, to say the least.

He did follow her advice of changing into a less noticeable outfit at least. A simple v-neck sweater and dress pants were what he had picked. He had also decided to don a coat on top which had a similar style to his regular apparel. Kafka, on the other hand, was wearing a high-neck sleeveless blouse that Blade had given her after inspecting her wardrobe, paired with high-waisted pants. She also had a coat over his outfit that matched Blade’s.

In order to avoid being spotted, they would have to climb through the walls that surrounded the city. Not too big of a deal though, after all, they did it pretty often for their missions. This time, they had a grappling gun, so it would be way easier than using other weapons that they have. Within minutes, they were through the walls and on the way to find their next destination. It should be nearby, from what Elio had mentioned. This would be where their disguises come into play.

Shortly after, they found it. Kafka’s lips naturally curved into a smile as they stood outside the building. “Remember to act natural, Bladie, and follow the plan.” Blade nodded. She latched onto his arm before they set foot inside the facility. Once they entered, it was just finding the right department. Since they have already been given the details, they just had to make it there without causing any suspicion for the people there. After all, it would be very strange for two civilians to be in a newborn nursery.

“Excuse me, miss. My wife and I would like to see our newborn baby. Would it be possible for us to enter the nursery?” Blade’s voice flowed through the area, alerting the nurse. His sultry voice captivated the nurse’s full attention. It definitely helped with Blade’s looks. Even Kafka can’t dispute that Blade was naturally bewitching, which made it very handy whenever they needed a diversion.

“The babies are having their nap right now. If you don’t mind, please follow me to fill in the details for your visit.”

The distraction was set. Blade instantly followed the nurse. Kafka took the chance to enter the nursery while the nurse was focused on Blade. She sauntered into the quiet nursery, looking over each of the name tags that were placed in front of the bassinets. Amara, Leo, Isla, Aria, Ethan…

A familiar name presents itself in front of Kafka.

“Bingo.” Her hand caressed the soft cheeks of the little one, who instinctively nuzzled towards the warm surface. Her other hand dug through the coat for the glowing life form, and she held out her hand when she caught it. In the dark nursery, the Stellaron is gleaming, resembling a star. The infant stirred from the luminous light that had appeared, their sapphire eyes glancing around the room before they fixed their eyes on the Stellaron. Kafka’s lips slowly curled upwards, watching the newborn’s actions.

“Hello, little one.” Her hand adjusted to pat the infant on the head. “You’re curious about this, right?” In response, her other hand presented the Stellaron right in front of the newborn. They edged closer towards Kahfa’s empty hand for a moment, before extending a hand towards the Stellaron. Her eyes twinkled at the action, her smile unwavering as her voice echoed through the room. “It’s all yours, little one. This is the fate that Elio has foreseen for you…” She then advanced her empty hand towards their eyes to cover them, before handling the Stellaron and pressing it into the infant. The Stellaron entered its body without much difficulty.

“Just as expected, the Stellaron did not even resist.” She lifted her hand away from the infant’s eyes, to realise that they had fallen asleep from what had just happened. Gently, Kafka moved her hands away, tugging the infant’s blanket over them. Her eyes soften at the sight.

“Sleep tight…”

“Gepard.”

Kafka steps out of the nursery, securing the door before she pulls out her phone, calling a familiar number. Her heels clattered as she retreated from the area, the distinct sound of her heels almost like a drumbeat. Finally, the call is picked up. She stopped her movements just as two individuals walked past her, trailed by a young girl she assumed was their daughter.

A family of blondes, huh? Looking at their clothing, they must be prestigious.

Familiar sapphire eyes locked onto Kafka as the girl came to a halt as well. Her parents continued, not realising that the girl had stopped following them. Kafka’s eyes widen as she comes to a realisation.

This girl, she must be…

“Kafka, what’s going on? Do you need my assistance?”

Well, no matter. Elio did not mention that she was a threat. Besides, the mission is already completed.

Her eyes remained fixed on the girl as Blade’s words echoed in her mind. She shifted her gaze away from the girl, her fingers lightly tapping on her phone case. The heels continued to make a clattering noise as she walked off the scene.

"No need, Bladie. The mission is accomplished. Let's go."

“Serval, what are you staring at? We need to get going to visit your little brother.”

Serval broke her gaze with the lady as she registered her father’s words. “Nothing, Father.”She immediately hurried to catch up with her parents, keeping a mental note on the lady.
