Chapter Text
The fight against Hades' heart wasn't easy. The thing was fast and Pit didn't do anything because according to him the heart was "adorable".
It almost took Raikou's Thunder to snap Pit back to reality. Even then, with Pit's help, the heart was still tough to beat. It multiplied themselves and hid inside a maze. At least Suicune can determine where the heart was hiding. They tried to use Hydro Pump but it was no use. Entei had an idea to use Fire Fang but that was no use either.
Even the other three had no use. The angels only had ranged weapons with them and there was no way to find that dumb heart. Sayaka also had a bad time, not because of her weapon or anything.
It was because her body was getting harder to move in. "Sayaka, are you sure you fight this thing?" Pit had asked.
'To be honest, no, I don't think so," she thought to herself, hoping neither angel listened to her. She wanted to stay put but at the same time she wanted to fight. She took a glance at her soul gem, it was turning darker and darker by the minute.
With the heart and her soul gem, there was no way Sayaka could live. She already accepted her fate. No matter what she does, there's only death.
"If you want to, you can stay away from the fight! We'll take it on by ourselves. Don't worry about it!" Pit tried to reason with her. To her dismay, it was actually working. However, her fate as a Magical Girl was already accepted. It was time for her to decide. Whether or not to sacrifice herself for her new friends (and crush...?) or let them exhaust themselves while she's resting and doing nothing at all.
"No...I'm going to take that thing head on, whether it kills me or not." Sayaka was determined. She wanted to help, she wanted to be the one helping and not the one resting.
She ran towards the heart pointing her blade at it. The maze didn't slow her down in the slightest. Instead it only made her even more stubborn. With one slice, the heart was cut in half but Sayaka had no more energy to pick herself up.
The others came rushing towards her. "Sayaka! That was reckless!" She didn't know who those words belonged too. Her mind and vision were getting hazy.
"Oh dear it seems that Sayaka might've costed herself a ton of energy" the person who said that was obviously Hades. The voice might've been faint but it was obvious.
"Your soul gem..."
"Can we do something about this"
"What an idiotic thing to do"
"I know..." Sayaka whispered. She knew she didn't have much time. "I knew...it was reckless..." it was getting tiring to speak.
"Then why would you do something like that!" Pit shouted. "Because...I didn't want...to be a...burden..." her voice was getting softer and softer.
"Even so, why should you do that. I could try to get Lady Palutena to help or Viridi. Why would you do that!? WHY WOULD YOU SOMETHING SO STUPID!?" this was the most angriest Pit had ever been. Even Dark Pit was stunned. "Heh...I guess I was stupid...so stupid to...try fighting in this condition.... huh..." no was laughing.
At a moment's glance, everything was flooded with darkness. No one knew what was going on. It felt like a million hurricanes trying to get everyone off the ground. What sounded like agony surrounded the room.
...
Or at least, whatever is left of the room. In the distance a giant mermaid wearing a knight's armor stood at the center of a blank white void alongside some railroad tracks.
"What is that thing?" Dark Pit shouted. He half expetected Hades to answer but there was nothing. Just many questions looming in everyone's mind.
"A witch...Sayaka became a witch..." Pit answered for him. In his mind he knew that no matter what happened back during the previous fight, Sayaka would end this way. It was nothing more than a cruel joke.
"We need to handle this thing immediatly." His twin answered. "Don't call it a thing! That's Sayaka over there!"
"And what do you suggest we do? Try to get Sayaka back to normal?" "Maybe...but I think it's best we put her down. An act of mercy."
Entei, Raikou and Suicune all lined up, ready to beat the witch. "Forgive me Sayaka." Pit whispered. He motioned the Pokemon to attack. Using all their might, the Legendary Beasts attacked the witch but didn't defeat her. It seemed that it was only right that Pit was the one to put her down.
With his head laying low, he pointed his bow towards the witch. One thing came to another and the witch was defeated.
The angels and the Pokemon woke up in Palutena's temple, wondering if Sayaka becoming a witch was nothing more than a nightmare.
To their dissappointment, it wasn't, for all that's left of Sayaka Miki was a lone grief seed.
