Chapter Text
A ginger with a hat some may describe as tacky walked through the streets of Yokohama aimlessly. Umbrella overhead, the rain made it undesirable to stay out much longer. He was simply waiting for a Port Mafia-issued ride when a soft yip caught his attention. He shouldn't get his hopes up but, a small part of him always wished for this day to come. it wouldn't hurt to check...the chances are probably slim anyway! He's just being thorough, it'd be good on his part to check. With that in mind, he abandoned the post to venture into the allies where the yipping increased. Hopeful, he wandered slowly, glancing around for a box of some kind.
Yip!
A box shuffling around had him hastily approaching, staring in awe before crouching down. It was embarrassing to note but his hands wouldn't stop shaking and a dopey smile found it's way onto his face. Lifting the cardboard flaps, a small bundle of black fur jumped out at him. "GAHH!" He yelped, the fuzzy creature wiggling around in his grip. But the sudden surprise quickly melted into fondness as he registered the puppy wagging it's tail.
who would leave this puppy here! he angrily thought, brashly looking around.
But, it was a cute dog. It was happily wagging it's tail without a worry in the world, looking at it made him weirdly happy himself. Standing up abruptly with the puppy in hand he picked up his previously forgotten umbrella in his other. The puppy needs a place to stay, he found the dog, he should at least treat it to a proper roof over it's head. That's only fair. he rationalized, and with his mind made up he resumed waiting for his ride with the dog cradled in his arms, umbrella under both of their heads.
The subordinate didn't question the newly acquired addition, already well aware of the executive's fondness of dogs. The ride itself went smoothly, Chuuya constantly showered the dog with affection and promises of nice things. "How does steak sound? I'll get you a fluffy bed and everything, don't worry." He proudly assured the dog who simply looked up at him like he was the world itself.
Getting out of the car and thanking the driver for the easy trip, he entered his luxurious apartment, telling the dog all about it. "Now wait here uh, doggy? Steak is coming up!" He announced, psyched up over cooking for the dopey puppy. It wasn't too long, him wanting to be done as soon as possible for his new doggy friend. Serving it up on a fancy ceramic plate, watching the dog eat had him feeling satisfied. It's all he could have ever hoped for. he'll be the best dog owner! Only the best for the dog anyways, it's only right that way of course. He made up his mind once more, thinking up all sorts of things to get the dog.
Walking away for a moment to buy such things, the small puppy walked after him with it's stubby legs. It was a cute sight. "Huh?" The dog kept following him wherever he went. He didn't mind, in fact, the hat-wearing executive felt honored. Setting the dog beside him, he constantly showed the puppy the screen displaying treats, toys, and even a tab for the order of a tailored hat to match his own. He thought it'd be fitting.
Every moment with the dog was fulfilling a long-term dream of his and it was always better than anything he could have imagined. Is this how dog owners feel? Will every day be this exciting? Heh, this dog will be the best living dog out there, he'll have everyone know his dog is well taken care of. He nods to himself, smirking to no one in particular.
