Chapter Text

Leo stared down at the mess still covering new York, I had been two months since the krang attacked yet the city was still covered in pink krang goop. Leo shuttered at the thought of having to deal with them again, these two months had not been easy. With the lair being destroyed and most of them gravely injured it didn't look good for a while. Luckily his brothers healed nicely mind a few scars, Raphs' eye and Donnies soft shell. Leo sighed before his phone rang, it was raph, probably coming to yell at him for sneaking out. Leo took a breath in before answering it and putting it to his tympanum.

"Leo! Where are you, why did you sneak out?" Raph shouted loudly, his voice filled with worry, Leo cringed he didn't like making Raph worried, he just needed some space.

"H-hey Raph, I'm just hanging around on top of a building" leo said sheepishly as he hopped on another roof top starting to head home "listen i'm sorry I snuck out on you but no need to worry Raph, I'm fine and I'm on my way back to the new lair as we speak"

Raph mumbled something incoherent, leo guessed it was about him sneaking off for the third time, "Leo how many times do I have to tell you, you can't sneak out! Not while there is still..." Raph shuttered at the next part "krang bits around the city, I don't want you near that stuff!"

Leo could feel his chest sink, he knew Raph still had a hard time with dealing with the trauma the krang caused, he Skidded to a stop before jumping off the roof. " I know I know Raph, im sorry, I won't do it again." Leo said with an apologetic voice "like I said I'm nearly to the new lair, can we finish this when I get home Raph?"

Raph gave a sigh, leo guessed his worry wrinkles were large, Leo chuckled to himself thinking about it "fine, but don't think your getting out of getting an earful tonight" Raph said "I'll see ya at home leo" Raph hung up soon after and leo looked around before jumping in the sewers

Bishop stared at the pictures a person brought to him

"What are these.... things" Bishop said studying these pictures of a blurry green thing jumping across a roof

"I'm not sure sir, someone brought these to us and we have no clue what it is, it could be an alien like the goop that covers the city." the man said shifting his weight looking nervous

Bishop smiled before putting the pictures down " I want you to find this... alien and bring it back, do you understand Jack" Bishop smiled a wicked grin

"O-ofcourse Bishop, I'll have a team right out sir!" The man called Jack said before running out of Bishops' office

Bishop smiled again "it looks like we have more aliens in New York. I can't wait to meet them"

The second Leo got home, he was bombarded with Raph all worried, asking why Leo ever thought it was a good ideas to go out.

"You could have been hurt leo! Raph was worried for you, you can't keep sneaking off like this!" Raph said, his worry line perfectly clear to see, as well as his worry stink.

Leo just smiled, resting his katana on his shoulder.

"I was fine Raph! Nothing bad is going to happen to me." Leo said snarkily, obviously not taking this seriously. "Besides, I wasn't anywhere near the city, just on the roof. Nobody saw me, plus it's been two months since the.." Leo trailed off not wanting to say what he was thinking.

Even though again, it has been two months since the Krang, Leo still didn't feel comfortable talking about it, or even thinking about it. They nearly died from them and he didn't want to think of what ifs, or anything like that.

"Leo I understand you were just on the roof but you could have at least told us where you were going, Raph would have worried a lot less." Raph said, trying to keep his voice calm.

Raph loved Leo and he didn't want to scare him off again, or hurt him. It has been hard on all of them since the invasion and he still felt guilty about what happened and what he did.

Leo sighed, looking down. "I know, I should have told you and next time I will, sorry raph." Leo said before walking off to his room, it wasn't a full apology but it was good enough for raph.

Raph watched Leo walk off to his room, before sitting down on the couch, maybe I should ask Leo to check on donnie later. Raph thought to himself, before looking down the hallway to Donnies lair.

It had been two days since donnie was last seen, and it worried Raph a great amount, he wanted to check on donnie but he didn't want to seem pushy, plus Raph didn't think Donnie even wanted to see him considering everything. It was settled, he would get leo to check up on him. Later, Raph didn't want to bother Leo again after Just talking to him.

Raph sat on the couch for a few minutes (hours? Raph couldn't tell) letting his mind wander before getting up and walking to ask leo to check on donnie. Raph hopes Leo would say yes.

Leo knocked on Donnies door to the lab, he had been talked into this by Raph, although he didn't mind as much. Leo hadn't seen Donnie in two days, he was worried

Leo was answered by a muffled noise, before the door to the lab opened.

Donnie looked like shit, leo couldn't lie, donnie had bags under his eyes and leo could clearly see the mountains of coffee mugs laying around, not including the cups of half full coffee mugs, it looked like Donnie hadn't slept in weeks, leo couldn't tell. He moved past donnie leaning against his katana.

Donnie shifted his gaze to leo, before walking back to whatever he was doing, "what do you want Leo?" Donnie said, with a hint of annoyance in his voice.

"Can't a twin just check up on his other twin?" Leo said, with a grin. He moved closer, behind donnie to see what he was doing, "Raph wanted me to check up on you" Leo paused for a moment before taking it all in "eughhh boy, looks like the shredder attacked your lab" Leo then said, laughing a bit

Donnie juat rolled his eyes, "scoff, if I knew that is the only reason why you are intruding on my personal space" he paused, shifting his eyes to leo "I wouldn't have let you in 'nardo"

"Oh come on 'tello, you know you can't keep me out" Leo motioned to his katana before speaking again "and besides, you have been in your lab for too long! You need fresh air!" Leo smiled smugly

"Leo, what are you presuming we do to get quote unquote 'fresh air'" Donnie said, finally stopping his work.

Donnie had been working on the trackers to make sure they were fully functional, of course his brothers didn't need to know he put trackers in their arms. 

Leo just smiled smugly, before opening a portal with one swift movement of his sword. "Let's go get some fresh air!"

Donnie just stood there, dumbfounded, before blankly staring at Leo. "I thought Raph told you to ask before going out" Donnie said, he heard it from the cameras he had set up around the new lair.

"What Raph doesn't know won't hurt him!" Leo said with a chuckle, before grabbing onto donnies wrist.

Donnie looked back at his work, he knew leo was going Wether he went or not, it would be best if he went with Leo, to make sure he didn't get in trouble. Reluctantly he said "fine but just a quick visit Leo, 10 minutes tops."

"That's what I'm talking about!" Leo said before jumping through the glowing portal with Donnie, the portal snapped shut as soon as they hopped through, leaving the lab empty asides the coffee cups and mugs. 

It was going to be a long night.

Leo landed on the roof, donnie following close behind, donnie mumbled about not having time to grab his battleshell before being dragged. 

“Look at all this Don, good thing you didn't stay in the lair!” Leo said with a laugh, before sitting down on the roof.

“Yes, Yes Leon, I guess you are right, it is a nice night” Donnie mumbled under his breath, before sitting down next to leo.

“Yes I know, I'm always right!” Leo said jokingly, before getting up looking off the roof.

“I'll race you to hueso's” Leo said smugly, before taking his phone out and calling hueso to make and order for pickup, before running off.

Donnie smiled a bit, not letting Leo know he was actually enjoying it, before running after Leo “you are on Leo!” He said with a hint of excitement.

Leo stuck his tongue out, laughing, “I'll get there first!” He laughed, jumping onto another roof with donnie following 

Bishop watched the camera video feed, zooming in on the blurry purple and blue clad turtles, she smiled, “I found you again turtles” she said before pushing a button, calling someone in.

A tall scruffy looking man walked in, eyeing the video feed, “Yes Director Bishop?” The man asked in a low voice.

“I'm going to need you to go greet our little turtles and bring them back to me, we can't have dangerous aliens on our hands can we.” Bishop said in a monotone voice.

“Take a few people with you, we can't have them Giving us the slip” bishop then said, before shifting her gaze to the scruffy man

The scruffy man nodded, “understood Director Bishop” he said, before walking off and getting a team.

Bishop smiled, looking back at the video feed, “I'm going to have fun meeting these turtle aliens” She said, before turning off the monitor.

Leo landed on a roof, smiling at Donnie, “Looks like I'm still the best!” He laughed, before leaning against his katana.

“Scoff! I would've won if I had my battleshell.” Donnie replied, mentally cursing himself for leaving it, he hadn't worn it in a whole after the krang but they were out for longer than 15 minutes, he didn't like to leave his softshell exposed for this long, especially outside of the lair.

Leo just smiled even wider, “Cmon, let's get the pizza, You probably want to go back to your, “Important” work” He said, picking his katana up yet again, and jumping down into the alley.

Donnie took a deep breath, “It is important work leon! I'm rebuilding sheldon!” Donnie replied with a hint of snarkiness before jumping down into the alley, from there Leo and Donnie opened a portal to the hidden city, right to Run Of The Mill.

“Ah, Buenos amigos! It is good to see you Tortugas!” Donnie and Leo were greeted with the smiling face of Hueso, the skeleton yokai who was good friends now that the invasion was over.

“Hola senior hueso, we come for pickup” Leo replied with his ever smiling face, putting his arm up to greet hueso.

Hueso and Leo always had a good relationship, Donnie would never tell anyone this but it did bother him that leo could get along with anyone, given enough time.

“Si Si Tortugas, wait here while I get your listo Para pizza” hueso replied with a slight smile on his face

Hueso really had grown fond of the turtles after the invasion, and to donnies credit, it was sorta nice to have someone else looking out for them, well besides April, Draxum and Splinter of course. 

A short wait later and hueso came back out with four piping hot pizzas for them. It wasn't really busy in the restaurant so it wasn't a shock that the wait was short.

“Gracias senior hueso!” Leo replied with his ever smiling face while he grabbed the pizza boxes, balancing them on his hands with his chin.

Donnie and Leo walked out, heading to the alleyway as Leo was trying to balance the pizzas while grabbing his katana. 

Donnie sighed, taking the pizza to help leo with making a portal, just as Leo grabbed his katanas, ready to make a portal, they heard a noise.

Something whizzed past Leo, lodging itself just below Leo's neck. Leo halted for a second, before grabbing it and looking at it

“Eughh boi..” Leo mumbled from under his breath, “Leon, what happened?” Donnie responded, putting the pizzas down and taking his tech bō out.

Leo didn't have time to answer that question before he slumped over to donnies surprise, “leo!” Donnie was startled at how fast that dart worked. Donnie grabbed Leo, hoisting him up while also doing his best to protect himself from whoever was out there.

Donnie heard footsteps from the roof, they were coming closer, knowing he couldn't protect both him and Leo, (especially without his battleshell) Donnie took off running down the alleys, making sure not to drop Leo, (idiot twin).

Donnie could hear shouting and the footsteps were getting closer, he kept running before climbing up the roof,nearly dropping Leo in the process (part of Donnie wanted to drop leo for being an idiot), luckily Donnie managed to catch his twin before he fell.

Taking a look around, donnie couldn't see anyone, he heard their footsteps and their shouting yet these people were good at hiding, not so much as keeping their mouths shut. Donnie needed to get Leo and himself out of here quickly. Silently cursing to himself again, upset he didn't bring his battleshell, Donnie took a step back, putting Leo down, preparing to fight,he just needed to keep them busy until Leo woke up and then Leo could portal them back home. 

Put from the shadows, donnie saw a a group of people, they had on full tactical gear and had some pretty serious weapons. Steadying his footing and getting in-between leo, donnie held his tech bō tightly, ready to fight, he was not letting them take him, or leo. 

One of the people spoke into a walkie “got eyes on the targets, two turtle mutants, ones down. Orders?” Donnie stared at the people, moving closer to leo, making sure he was covered, donnie couldn't lose his twin again, he need to protect him.

Donnies mind wandered to what would happen if these people succeed, they would be dissected, tormented, even killed, donnie couldn't let that happen! 

“I need to protect my twin, I can't let them take him,” Donnie thought to himself.

His thoughts were cut short by the man on the walkie talkie, “Understood” The man turned to the others “Take them.” The man responded with a cold dead tone, it reminded Donnie of himself before the invasion.

Donnies breath hitched when the other people started closing in, taking his chances Donnie carefully calculated his attack, noticing the weak point of these people, they didn't have helmets (idiots) he smiled and charged at the closest person, swiftly bringing his tech bō down on the person, as it collided with the person's head, donnie heard a sickening crack as the person fell. 

The others backed off as the man with the walkie talkie (Donnie assumed the leader) started yelling, “Take the turtle down now!” The leader smiled before disappearing into the crowd of people. 

Donnie held his tech bō, smiling as he started charging at the other people, some ran as soon as donnie charged while others fought, these people would regret that soon enough.

Donnie swiftly took down a few others, making non-lethal blows (Raph would kill donnie if he killed this people), but even as donnie took some out, he was still surrounded, and nowhere near Leo again. 

Donnie needed to get back to Leo quickly, just as he raised his tech bō again, preparing a strike, the leader (idiot! He should have been keeping track of him) 

Spoke loudly and with a cold tone, “Stop now turtle, or the other turtle won't live any longer” The leader had Leo in his grasp, pointing a gun to Leo's head.

Donnie started to panic, he couldn't let this guy kill leo, but he also couldn't let them be captured, he couldn't let them!

Donnies panicking made it a perfect place for two of the people, a slim, young man, and a tall scruffy looking man, from what donnie could see to grab donnie and push him to the ground, the weight of the tall scruffy man was uncomfortable on his softshell. 

Donnie struggled to get up but it was no use, it didn't help that he was not as strong as his brothers (he was the tech need, of course he wasn't as strong) and it didn't help that his face was pressed into the cold ground with two people basically sitting on him. 

Donnie felt something injected into him before the young man and the scruffy man got up and pulled Donnie to his knees. Donnie stared face to face with the leader, “I didn't think you turtles would be much trouble, but look at that, one of my men is dead.” the leader said coldly, still having a tight grip on Leo. 

Donnie couldn't do much of anything before the scruffy man hit him in the back of his neck with the gun. Donnies vision was blurred as they dropped him again, meeting eyes with Leo one last time before everything went dark.
