Summary

Eight years later, Darth Tyranus ignites an interstellar war that threatens to topple the galaxy into darkness. Masterminded by the Sith, it only takes two years of bitter fighting to bring the Republic to the very brink of collapse, precisely where Tyranus and Sidious want it.
That is, until the Jedi start winning battles they aren’t supposed to. When Sidious fails to coerce the Jedi into revealing anything except that the source of their intel is from Rattatak, he orders Tyranus to remedy the situation.
In order to do so, Tyranus sends Darth Vader to Rattatak to investigate, where he discovers that Asajj Ventress has captured Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi and is slowly torturing him to death.
Vader is faced with a choice: to leave Kenobi or help him. But what does it mean to choose, when you have been a slave your whole life?
