   Summary

   Essentially fan fiction of a fan fiction wherein:

   Clark had a child forced onto him, leaving that pup behind was the hardest choice he ever had to make. At the time it had felt like the only way to hold onto his sanity.
   It's hard to trust an Alpha again after such an event, even one as kind and considerate as Bruce has been all these years.

   Jason, Bruce's pup, knows himself what that kind of broken trust can do to a person. He almost seems to be able to smell it off him.

   Maybe that's what lead him to ask that ruinous question?

    

   Maybe not.

    

   But Clark never regretted anything more than he did, those ill-fated words, and all of the world felt their impact.
