Chapter Text
When I fell asleep, I feel light. I feel something whack my face. When I wake up, I feel like I have just escaped from something dangerous. The only thing I can remember is emotionless orange eyes. Trying to forget about that I turn around to see who woke me up. I see a grinning green mask at the right side of my bed. Surprised I fell off the bed.
"Echo why the heck is Henry in my room?!" I turn to ask Echo who is eating some berries.
"Finally your awake. Your friend with the green mask here wanted to wake you up and have a battle." Echo says this and I quickly get up.
"Echo that does not explain why you let him in!" I scream this while rushing to the bathroom to change my clothes.
"Well, your friend gave me food to let him in, so I took the bribe and let him in." Echo shrugs her shoulders and goes back to eating. She is also hitting away Balwin and Minuet from her food. She does give Mercy a berry when she sees him.
Really it seems like Echo will be easily bribed by food now. That is wonderful to know if I ever need her to do something she would not want to do. I change into my trainer outfit and come out of the bathroom.
I raise my eyebrow," Henry could you have not waited to battle me after I woke up."
The mask brightens," Nope now come on let's go battle!"
I grin rolling my eyes," Well I guess this will be our first battle against each other Henry. Let's see who's the better trainer me or you"
"Yup and guess what Honey I will win this! Also, just so you know I am better than you since I have beaten two gyms so far" Henry leads me to the battlefield out back in the Pokémon center. I bring Echo with me for the battle and leave the rest of my Pokémon in my room. I do this to allow them to rest after everything that happened yesterday. When we get to the field, I see Rain is waiting there to ref the battle. He looks like he just woke up since he is still wearing his pj's from last night. Honestly did Henry wake up Rain to ref the game.
"Now this will be a one v one battle with no substitutions." Rain says this with a yawn. His Trapinch bites him when he looks like he is about to fall asleep causing to Rain to jump. I could tell it was a playful bite not meant to draw blood or harm.
"Echo come on out and battle." I say this and Echo nods jumping onto the field.
"Eevee it's your time to shine." Henry flicks his Pokéball out on the field. A little shiny Eevee pops out of the Pokéball with a yawn.
Okay Honey you can have the first move since I did challenge you." Henry crosses his arms his mask has a cocky expression. Well Henry you are going to lose now.
I look at Echo both of us grin at each other. " Echo, you know what to do."
Echo nods and then uses Quick Attack. She rushes at Eevee and uses the Quick Attack to headbutt it in the stomach. Then she quickly dashes away to avoid Eevee's Tackle.
"Honey you are not the only one who trained their Pokémon to attack using hand signals and cue words." Henry mask's grin widens when he says this.
"Well, that means it is more of a challenge then. Echo, you got this use our favorite combo."
Echo with a grin uses Quick Attack followed by Flame Charge. White energy surges together with a brilliant red that surrounds Echo. Echo's Quick Attack combined with Flame Charge gave her a boost when she rushed at Eevee. It caused Eevee to not be able to dodge at the last second. Eevee is thrown against the wall when Echo collided with it.
"Eevee no use Swift!" Tears appear on Henry's mask when he sees his Eevee crash into the wall.
Eevee when it heard its trainer came out of the wall with stars flying out of its tail. The stars flew toward Echo so fast that she could not dodge out of the way. It caused a small explosion of dust to form when it impacted with Echo. When the dust cleared with relief, I could see Echo was heavily harmed by Swift.
"Echo, you got this use Super Fang." I point at the field. Energy formed around Echo's mouth and when she rushed and bite the Eevee it fainted.
Henry nervously laughs," Well I guess you won this round but next time but next time I will win. I will prove that I am a better trainer than you." He walks over and we shake hands. Then we hear an explosion coming from the Pokémon center.
